Description of the of Elected Board Positions for the Raleigh ISSA Chapter Below is a list of the nine elected board positions for 2016. Note that all board members are expected to make full use of Chapter-provided resources and tools including collaboration tools and email through Microsoft SharePoint and Exchange. All board members are expected to monitor Chapter email accounts and respond as soon as possible (definitely within 24 hours) to any communications from other Board members, Chapter members or any persons requesting information for official Chapter business. If you are interested in running for any of the elected positions, please follow these instructions: Review the responsibilities and anticipated time commitments below. All nominations will be pending board approval. To be considered for President or Vice President, nominees must have been a member of the Raleigh ISSA Chapter for at least 2 years, and must have attended 16 of the last 24 meeting. To be considered for all other elected positions, nominees must have been a member of the Raleigh ISSA Chapter for at least 1 year, and must have attended 8 of the last 12 meetings. 1. Chapter President The ISSA Chapter President position provides overall leadership in the management of the chapter operations. The President is the chairperson of the chapter Board of Directors. Presides over Chapter meetings, board meetings and all conference activities Leads business planning and review of progress or implementation Reviews and manages Chapter budget and ensures that only authorized signatory approves/sign outgoing money Interfaces with ISSA International by representing the Chapter in the annual conference and the Presidents quarterly meetings Partners with other chapters and security-related professional organizations Point of contact for media, vendors, presenters, sponsors and other organizations interested to provide support to the Chapter Aids the vice president in acquiring Chapter and conference sponsorship Leads resolution of Chapter issues Required time investment for this position: 8 hours weekly Tools and resources required: Microsoft Word, Excel (or similar), SharePoint 2. Chapter Vice President The Vice President shall attend to the duties of the President in his/her absence or in case the President s office may become vacant for any cause whatever, and shall attend to any other duties the President may require. Leads planning of monthly presentations and meeting logistics for the chapter including review of topics and presenters to assure relevancy to the educational goal of the Chapter Ensure monthly presentations calendar is published via Communications teams Assists the President in collaborating with other chapters and information security organizations to enhance Raleigh Chapter value to membership Participates or take leadership role in other special activities of the Chapter, as needed Assists President in the acquiring Chapter and conference sponsorship Required time for this position: 5 hours weekly Tools and resources required: Microsoft Word, Excel (or similar), SharePoint Page 2

3. Chapter Education Director The Education Director oversees all educational activities and related events to support the Chapter plan that focuses on education. This position coordinates educational activities pertaining to the study groups, conferences and other security seminars being hosted by the Chapter. (e.g.; Back to Basics courses, CISSP CBK study group, etc.). Ongoing responsibilities include: Facilitates educational activity planning, logistics and delivery Proposes budget pertaining to educational activities for monthly meeting and conference Organizes resources, speakers/instructors and volunteers for education events Ensures activity information is published via the Communications team Required time for this position: 2 hours weekly Tools and resources required: Microsoft Word, Excel (or similar), SharePoint 4. Chapter Communications Director The Communications Director is responsible for internal and external communications. This position works closely with the Digital Media Director to ensure usage of digital and web media as a communications medium. The Communications Director is also responsible for the preparation and distribution of the Chapter newsletter. Creating, editing and distributing Chapter communications and announcements Market the Chapter via web and social media Manages RSVPs to all Chapter-hosted events Collect and communicate updates internally to the Board prior to meetings or events Participate or take leadership role in other special activities of the Chapter, as needed Responsible for the preparation and distribution of the Chapter newsletter, sponsor emails and communications Assist with communications for the conference, internal and external Works closely with the following officers: Vice President for monthly meeting presentations; Membership Director for relevant membership information to be disseminated; Conference Director for relevant conference information and updates Required time for this position: 3 hours weekly Tools and resources required: Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Constant Contact, SurveyMonkey (or similar), ISSA.org site, Wordpress (front-end), SlideShare, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, BusyConf Page 3

5. Chapter Digital Media Director The Digital Media Director is responsible for Chapter communications thru digital and web media, and for the management of the Chapter website, online integrations and graphics. This position works closely with the Communications Director to ensure all information on the website matches what is distributed by the Communications Director via email. Ongoing responsibilities include: Website maintenance and integration Domain Maintenance Assist in marketing the Chapter on web and social media Vector and raster graphics creation, editing and manipulation Assistance with conference promotions through digital and web media Works closely with President, Vice President, Conference Director, and Communications Director to ensure chapter website content is current Required time for this position: 3 hours weekly Tools and resources required: Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Constant Contact, Wordpress (back-end), Wordpress plug-ins, HTML & CSS, vector and raster graphics tools of your choice (such as Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw), domain host records management, SlideShare, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, EventBrite, BusyConf 6. Chapter Treasurer The Treasurer is responsible for managing the finances of the Chapter. This position collects all monies and dues for the Chapter and tracks use of such monies for Chapter operations. Collects all monies or articles of value belonging to the Chapter, and shall keep an accurate account of all treasury receipts, expenditures, and deposits Receives the Chapter portion of all membership dues coming from International HQ and deposits it in the Chapter checking account Performs monthly bank reconciliation Prepares quarterly, or as needed, report for the Board; which is shared at the Chapter meetings Works with an auditor to review the books of the Chapter to ensure consistency with approved budget as well as the recorded incoming and outgoing money Prepares an annual report to be shared with all the members of the Chapter Ensures that only authorized signatory authority for all accounts are the ones approving/signing Collect and distribute the Chapter mail Required time for this position: 1 hour weekly Tools and resources required: Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, EventBrite Page 4

7. Chapter Recording Secretary The Recording Secretary shall take minutes of all Board meetings, including how called or authorized, notice given thereof, place and time of holding, and the names of those present, and shall keep a copy of such minutes and distribute to the Board. The Secretary shall keep a copy of the current Bylaws, which will be available for the inspection by the members at all reasonable times. The Secretary shall keep an inventory record of all Chapter-owned equipment. The Secretary shall maintain and distribute an electronic distribution list of the Board members, including lists of Board Members work and home information. The Secretary will also maintain a Chapter calendar. Printing of all attendee name badges for Chapter meetings Recording, collecting, and reporting all CPE information to respective governing agencies Printing and distributing attendance certificates as needed by members and visitors for CPE validation Management of the reception desk at Chapter meeting site by preparing sign-in sheet, registering attendees, and providing completed sign-in sheet to site security guards and the Communications Director for inclusion in newsletter distribution Works closely with President, Vice President, and Conference Director Required time for this position: 2 hours weekly, plus up to 5 hours weekly for the two months leading up to the conference Tools and resources required: Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, badge printing software 8. Chapter Conference Director The Conference Director is responsible for providing leadership, management, and oversight for the Raleigh ISSA Triangle InfoSeCon security conference held the third Thursday in October. Establishing the conference program (tracks, content, etc.) Coordinating the call for papers and final speaker selections Outreach to other content provides (bookstore, lock pick village, capture the flag) Collaborating with NCSU McKimmon Center personnel on facility reservation and requirements Conference meals and snacks through 3 rd party vendor/caterer Selection and coordination of volunteer staff Setting and enforcement of all timelines and goals for the conference Assisting President and Vice President with securing sponsorships Works closely with the President, Vice President and Communications Director Required time for this position: 1 hour weekly, plus up to 10 hours weekly for the two months leading up to the conference Tools and resources required: Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, BusyConf (conference management platform) Page 5

9. Chapter Sponsorship Director The Chapter Sponsorships Director will be responsible for establishing and maintaining sponsorship and partnership relationships. The Chapter Sponsorships Director is responsible for providing leadership, management, and oversight of the relationships with the chapter supporters. Establishing the conference program (tracks, content, etc.) Coordinating the call for papers and final speaker selections Outreach to other security/it organizations Assisting President and Vice President with securing sponsorships Works closely with the President, Vice President and Communications Director Required time for this position: 2 hour weekly, plus up to 10 hours weekly for the two months leading up to the conference Tools and resources required: Microsoft Office, SharePoint 10. Chapter Membership Director The Chapter Membership Director is responsible for maintaining membership and guest lists. The Chapter Membership Director works closely with the other board members. Maintaining Guest lists from the Chapter meetings. Develop and execute a Chapter member retention program Develop and execute the Chapters recruitment program. Reach out to local universities to continue to build ouor student memberships Required time for this position: 2 hour weekly Tools and resources required: Microsoft Office, SharePoint 11. Chapter Community Outreach Director Responsible for engaging with the various outreach and community partners of the Information Systems Security Association Raleigh Chapter. Including but not limited to: Informing our members of the various community engagement opportunities Volunteering Speaking Teaching Mentoring Helping our community partners obtain more visibility and resources through our network of support Ensuring each community partner is fulfilling their obligations to remain connected with our organization.
