SPOTLIGHT Rossville Consolidated School District would like to recognize DSM Coating Resins for their generous donation to the school district. DSM Coating Resins donation allowed the corporation to purchase hallway Stop the Bleed Kits and provide teachers with individual classroom kits to be used in case of an emergency. 4
Approval of Minutes Consideration of Claims & Payroll December 6, 2016 December 6, 2016 Regular Session Building Project Hearing Board members received claims docket, payroll claims, and minutes in advance of the meeting. Board members also received excerpts from the Building Project (1028) Hearing minutes for review. Members were asked to contact Dr. Hanna with individual items which they have questions. New Business Personnel Item Consideration of Grant Distribution Rossville Consolidated School District received $32,613.66 for qualified teachers to receive a Teacher Performance Grant as a bonus for the 2015 2016 school year. Teachers that were employed for at least 120 days for the 2015 2016 school year and returned for the 2016 2017 and were employed on December 1, 2016 are eligible for a portion of the Teacher Performance Grant. Retirees and those that departed or teachers rated ineffective or need improvement are not eligible for the annual performance grant money. The compensation is prorated to one Full Time Equivalent (FTE). The distribution must be differentiated between effective and highly effective teachers. Our current compensation model does not differentiate between effective and highly effective. Therefore, Dr. Hanna is requesting a distribution of $534.90 to teachers qualified as effective and $535.93 for those teachers qualified as highly effective. The total amount of distribution including benefits is $32,613.69. Motion made to approve allowing Dr. Hanna to distribute the funds upon receipt as presented. New Business Miscellaneous Item Consideration of Overnight Conference Request Mrs. Tracy Fife is requesting to attend a PowerSchool Conference in Orlando, Florida. The conference is being held from February 26, 2017 through March 2, 2017. This is an excellent training opportunity for Mrs. Fife as she works directly with PowerSchool on a daily basis. New Business Miscellaneous Item Consideration of Overnight Conference Request Mrs. Sarah Kavanagh is requesting to attend IMEA Music Conference in Fort Wayne. The conference is being held from January 12, 2017 through January 14, 2017. Participation in this conference will be beneficial as best practice strategies for the music classroom will be discussed and attendance will allow supervision of the three Rossville students who will be participating in the 2017 Indiana Middle School Honor Choir.
