CHAIRMAN, MOOSEHEART BOARD JOE KOONS, PSG Past Supreme Governor Joseph R. Koons serves the Loyal Order of Moose as Chairman of the Mooseheart Board of Directors. He was appointed to this post in July 2016 at the 128th International Convention in St. Louis, MO. Prior to this post, he served on the Pilgrim Council from 2015-2016; as Jr. Past Supreme Governor from 2014-2015; as Supreme Governor from 2013-2014 the fraternity s chief presidingofficer; as Supreme Jr. Governor from 2012-2013; and as Supreme Prelate from 2011-2012. Joe has served on the Supreme Council since June 2004, six years prior as a member of the Mooseheart Board of Directors and four years before that on the International Community Service Committee. Joe joined the Moose in 1970 as a member of Danville, PA Lodge 1133, where he holds a Life Membership. He served through the chairs as Administrator, and is a Past Governor. He also holds a membership in Selinsgrove, PA Lodge 1173, and is a member of Susquehanna Moose Legion 89. Joe has served the Pennsylvania Moose Association as District President, Youth Awareness Coordinator, Government Relations Chairman and as Association President during 1999-2000. Joe is a member of the 325 Division of the 25 Club. He received the Fellowship Degree of Honor in 1984, and the Pilgrim Degree of merit in 1991. Joe retired in 1999 after 36 years of professional service to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; he still serves part-time as a consulting therapist for troubled youth. He served on the Township Municipal Authority, and he is also a member of the Masons, Elks, Eagles fraternal orders, the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, and Sunnybrook playground. He has coached Little League and has served the Boy Scouts of America as a Scoutmaster. Currently, he is on the board of the Danville Playground Association and serves as a member of the Valley Township Municipal Authority. Joe enjoys golf, gardening and politics in his spare time. Joe and his wife, Connie, reside in Danville, PA. They have two children and four grandchildren. 2 3

O.S.M.A PRESIDENT BRIAN CHEW Welcome to the 2019 Ohio State Moose Association Mid-Year Conference. This is the time of the year that our Brothers and Co-Workers join together from all over this great state of Ohio join together for fun and fellowship. I would also like to welcome our Official Visitors PSG Joe Koons from Danville, PA Lodge #1133 and Grand Regent Wendy Matthew from Chatham, ON Chapter #304. Let s make sure we give them a big and well deserving O-H-I-O welcome. At this conference we will be recognizing our 5/25 Club members with a party featuring NASCAR Races Friday night, with all proceeds going to Moose Charities. I would like to thank all of the Lodges, Chapters, Districts and Moose Legions for donating to this special event. We will also be collecting school supplies for our Heart of the Community project at this convention. As most of you know we have completed our fundraising for the Moosehaven Centennial Project, now it s time to move on to another project at Moosehaven. So let s keep giving, so we can keep improving the Moosehaven Campus. That is why we are Moose on a Mission. I would like to thank everyone for your hard work and effort in supporting this great Moose Association and Moose Fraternity. Remember to take back all the knowledge and thoughts you have heard this weekend to your Lodges and Chapters and share them with your membership. Once again welcome to the Mid-Year Conference, have fun and be safe on your travels home. God bless Mooseheart and Moosehaven. WELCOME WOTM OFFICIAL VISITOR WENDY C MATTHEW GRAND REGENT Wendy C. Matthew currently serves as Grand Regent for the Women of the Moose. She was appointed and installed to this position at the International Conference of the Women of the Moose in New Orleans, Louisiana in July 2018. She joined the Women of the Moose of Chatham, Ontario Chapter 304 in October 1976. She became a Life Member in June 1997. She has always been an active member and served her Chapter in many capacities, as well as, fulfilled appointments made by International Headquarters. Wendy earned her Academy of Friendship in May 1979; College of Regents in May 1983; and Star Recorder in May 1984. Wendy served the Women of the Moose as a Grand Council Member (2006-2008); President of the Star Recorder Board (2002-2003); Star Recorder Board Member (1999-2001); and Deputy Grand Regent for Ontario (1994-1995). She previously served the fraternity as a member of the Council on Canadian Operations (2008-2010), Deputy Regional Manager (2006-2010) and currently serves as Chapter Analyst Coordinator (2010-current) and Training Coordinator in Ontario. She has also served as Chairman of the Ontario Life Care, Fraternal Fundraising and Moose Charities Committees and appointed to the International Activities 2010-2017. She is also a member of the Moose 25 Club. Wendy resides in Chatham, Ontario. She works in Office Administration for Can Art Aluminum. I also wish a very warm welcome to Grand Regent, Wendy Matthew from Chatham, Ontario. Although I only met her briefly in New Orleans, everyone there was talking about what a wonderful lady she is! I have no doubt that she will deliver wisdom and training for all of us. I am very grateful to be able to serve you as Ohio s Deputy Grand Regent this year.
