PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE JUNE 13, 2011 MOTION # 2 On this day, Commissioners Court began with the Pledge of Allegiance. PUBLIC COMMENT JUNE 13, 2011 MOTION # 3 (Item # 3) On this day, the following person appeared before Commissioners Court to offer public comment. County Judge Escobar informed the Court and the public that she would be stepping away from the meeting to attend a Change of Command Ceremony at Ft. Bliss but would return soon to complete the meeting. She also explained that this morning she had signed a local declaration of disaster for drought and wildfire danger. El Paso is experiencing a severe drought and is cause for an emergency situation that gives the County Judge the authority to declare a disaster banning the sale, use, and possession of all fireworks in the County. That declaration is only in effect for 60 hours and in order to extend the declaration, the Governor must grant an extension past the 4 th of July. A special meeting regarding the fireworks ban has been scheduled for Tuesday June 14 th at 2 pm, and the public is invited to attend. If someone is not able to attend they are encouraged to call or e-mail their position to members of the Court.

APPROVED RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING 2011-2012 SCHOOL YEAR A BULLY FREE YEAR JUNE 13, 2011 MOTION # 4 (Item # 1) On this day, on motion of Commissioner Perez, seconded by Commissioner Haggerty, it is the order of the Court to adopt a resolution proclaiming the 2011-2012 school year as "A Bully Free Year" in El Paso County, Texas. Sheriff Richard Wiles was present to receive the resolution.
