NEW CUMBERLAND YOUTH BASEBALL ASSOCIATION MINUTES OF January 7, 2018 The meeting of the New Cumberland Youth Baseball Association was called to order on January 7, 2018 with the following members present: Brian Koch, Mike Haas, Gary Shirley, Scott Rickenbach, Julie Drabenstadt, Shannan Conrad, Diane Sohomuch, Robert Seibert, Jen Barrett, Paul Ritchie and Sydney Johnson. 1. Recognition of Visitors: None. 2. Secretary Report. The minutes of November 9, 2017 were presented. Scott Rickenbach made the motion to accept the minutes. The motion was seconded by Jen Barrett and passed. 3. Health & Welfare. Brian Koch said that he sent out an email concerning the merger between Mechanicsburg and Upper Allen. Paul Ritchie said about having 2 billboards advertising our signups. 4. League Correspondence. a. Incoming Correspondence. None. b. Outgoing Correspondence. Gary Shirley said he sent letters to the Borough of New Cumberland and Fairview Township about field assignments, to Baughman United Methodist about our board meetings and took out an application to the West Shore School District for the Hillside Teener Field. He said that he also sent out Press Releases concerning our signups. 5. Treasurer s Report. Diane Sohomuch presented the Treasurer s Report for the period November 9, 2017 to January 3, 2018. She reported a balance as of January 3, 2018, of $3,598.21 in our checking account, $808.20 in our Will Cole Paver Account and $7,622.65 in our Hillside Project Account. Scott Rickenbach made the motion to accept the Treasurer s Report. The motion was seconded by Julie Drabenstadt and passed. Discussed the Will Cole Paver Project. Sydney Johnson volunteered to run the project. She will come back to the board with some ideas. 6. Association Business. a. Discussed playing kids up and down. Brian Koch said that we are going to vote on a policy on this at the next meeting. b. Mike Haas reported on the following. (1) 2018 Signups. He reported that we have 23 on line signups so far and that most of them are T-Ball. Our first signup is this Tuesday, January 9, 2018.
(2) He said that the windows have been rebuilt at the Borough Concession Stand. (3) He discussed some problems with the Borough Equipment Shed. (4) He said that the Borough Dugout Roofs will be done. (5) He said that Winter Clinics will start shortly. c. Bat Rule. Brian Koch gave a handout about the new bat rule. d. Rule Change. Brian Koch gave a handout about a rule change and that we would be voting on this at the next meeting. e. Sponsorships. Julie said that she has contacted all the sponsors that we had last year. f. Hillside Project Update. Brian Koch said that we started a Go Me Fund for the project. The project has already started. g. Photo Day Contract. Deb contacted Brian Koch about getting a 3-year contract with Fine Arts. The board had no problem with this. The Photo Day date is March 31, 2018. h. Shelves, turf and equipment cage. Discussed. 7. Business for future consideration. None 8. Motion to adjourn. Sydney Johnson made the motion to adjourn. The motion was seconded by Jen Barrett and passed. The meeting was adjourned at 7:20 PM.
