Session XCIV Session XCIV Executive Committee 6:00pm, Sunday September 13th, 2015 Conoco Leadership Center Call to Order 6:02 Roll Call Pae and Reid gone Approval of Minutes Motion to approve the minutes Thompson sec Elwick Reports: o Chair- Homecoming, still waiting on info from Kate for pomping hours. We will be pomping at AOPi, a bunch of appointments to see tonight and this Tuesday. Think of good questions to ask them. o Vice Chair- Orientation this Sunday will talk more later about that. o Secretary- Office Hours are due this Monday. I only have 10 people so do them and tell your members to do so. Also RSO Lists I need them ASAP. o Academic Affairs- Me and Kendall met, threw around new ideas. Looking forward to new members of committee. 4:00 meetings as of now, may change once we get more people. o Congressional Administration- Did interviews all day, and saw a lot of legislation all rec of do pass. Few interviews will be done Tuesday 5-6:30 since there were some people that had special circumstances. They will be there and find out associate ship or representative at the meeting. We sent out emails to 45 people out of the 70 that applied, 31 signed up on the doodle poll and then we saw 28 today. o External Affairs- Doing appointments for VC and sec once I have my new members and will have a more set meeting time then. 4:00 meeting times as of now but may change. o Human Diversity- Meeting with Unite World officers want to hosts a forum event next month for ways that college and international students can talk to each other; want as many people to come as soon as possible. Meeting with Deondre Fisher is postponed till later this week. o Problems and Projects- Main discussion is propose a lot of problems and things that are actually feasible, very much things that can actually be changed in ways, more about direct improvement rather than talk. Want to kick back on initiative on blue lights on campus work. Some boxes and some buttons. Will be Steward and Franzese, maybe Park too. Additionally, Scott wanted to do something, involves talking to the City. Want to talk about bike lanes on the way to school in Norman. Told her to talk to Kara. Water initiative in the works, got a name from Brian Ellis. Secretary appointment next Sunday. 5 pm meetings. o Public Relations- No report
o o Ways and Means- We saw emergency allocations, $850 for four different organizations. Told them to do one hour of office hours. Tave Wise is vice chair and Lauren Long Secretary and Echols unofficially in charge of Title XII. Lillian Trinh dropped from WAM because too busy, committee meetings will be at 3:00. Legislative Assistant- We have a bunch of appointments as of now but we will not be having any other legislation soon. Finding out information about the Head of Human Diversity. Pretty solid resume and had a good interview. Sample: I sat in on the other two interviews. Thompson: How were the other interviews? Sample: Phone interview with Borlound, good application and knows code very well. Regan was really good too, knows the code, VP of Risk Management for Sorority, discipline members that are not following the rules of their sorority appropriately, Total of 7 applications and interviews. Regan is a junior. Have 3 or more next year to appoint since they are leaving. She has the most experience, and there is nobody more qualified than her in the interviews. Elwick: Who did the interviews? Thompson: Alex, Shawn and Emma. Red of no red Cramm sec Elwick Follow-Up Reports General Discussion Brown: Noon by Thursday email agendas to Brown and Kaylee. Chair makes the committee agendas. Chair is in charge of attendance. Chair is the only person who can excuse or not excuse attendance. Role of secretary is to take the minutes. VC is in charge of follow up reports and for being there when you cannot. You must email every member of your committee and anyone who is going to be there because of legislation Thursday at 5pm. Rains: If you don t want to print it off yourself you must send it to me or Chelsea by NOON otherwise it will not be printed off by us and YOU will have to print it off and post it yourself. AGENDAS MUST BE POSTED BY 5:00. If you do not post an agenda you WILL NOT MEET AS A COMMITTEE. Sample: Also, don t tell Kaylee legislation, she can t refer it only the chair can refer it. Brown: All of this information is in Section 6.3 page 21 of the bylaws. Brown: Officially you guys will be getting an email from me tonight about orientation. So all the rooms for the union were good to go and then long story short they said no so now were in Wagner. September 20 th this Sunday from 2:00-6:00. Sample: Exec will be at 1:00 that day.
Brown: Hopefully we will be done earlier, dinner will be after. Adding a few things to the table of contents, going to have a Parle pro thing by Emily. Going to have a legislation thing that will be split up in two rooms. I feel like most people will benefit from a more in depth session, sorry to people that know it already, it will be a good refreshers. Going to hideaway for dinner after! YAY! Cheaper too. Going to send out a doodle poll for pizza. Cramm: How much are we going to save going to Hideaway? Brown: It is about to $300-400 hundred at Hideaway rather than like $500 at a sit-down restaurant. Also giving a bill and resolution template that will be in the package will be good for new members. Almost solidified our guest speaker will know by Monday or Tuesday. If he says no, then we will not have a guest speaker. What do you think about adding all Congress names and district to the back of the packet for reference? All: Good idea. Sample: Yes I was just expecting you to come down but no one did. Balangue: Orientation for everyone? Brown: Yes everyone is required to be in it. EA and WAM will have their own rooms since I know you guys do more intensive things; everyone else will be in one large room split up. Two committees in one room completely separate.
