FILED FOR RECORD AUG 2 5 1982 BEFORE THE STATE OIL AND GAS BOARD OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI DOCKET NO. 237-82-215 0RDER N0 ORDER AMENDING THE SPECIAL FIELD RULES FOR THE MANTUA FIELD ADAMS COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI ORDER This day this cause came on for hearing before the State Oil and Gas Board of Mississippi on Petition of Sun Explorationand Production Company, Sun Production Division, a foreign corporation licensed to do business and doing business in Missis sippi, requesting the Board to amend the Special Field Rules for the Mantua Field, Adams County, Mississippi, to define and include therein the 5540' Wilcox Sand Oil Pool and the 5580' Wilcox Sand Oil Pool. After examining the Petition and Proofs of Publication, and after hearing all of the evidence offered upon the hearing of said cause, and considering the exhibits presented and having considered the arguments of counsel and being fully advised in the premises, the Board finds as follows: 1. Due, proper and legal notice of the meeting of the Board for the purpose of considering and taking action with res pect to this matter has been given in the time, manner, and way as provided by law and the rules and regulations of the Board, and due, legal, and sufficient Proofs of Publication are on file with the Board, and the Board has full jurisdiction of the parties and the subject matter and has authority to hear and determine said matter. 2. Pursuant to said notice, a public hearing was held by said Board in the Woolfolk State Office Building, Jackson, Mis sissippi, on July 21, 1982, at which time and place all persons present who desired to be heard on said matter were heard and all proposed amendments to the Special Field Rules for the Mantua Field were fully discussed and duly considered by those persons at said meeting.

-2-3. Special Field Rules for the Mantua Field, Adams County, Mississippi, were initially established under Docket No. 168-65-215, Order No. 236-65, and thereafter amended by Order No. 104-66, Order No. 229-68, and Order No. 229-78 of this Board. 4. Since the time of the last amendment to these Special Field Rules, further work in the field has yielded additional geological information, and it has been determined that the 5540' Wilcox Sand Oil Pool and the 5580' Wilcox Sand Oil Pool are sep arate and distinct from any previously established Pool defined in the Special Field Rules for the Mantua Field, therefore Peti tioner has proposed to define the newly discovered oil pools as follows: G. The 5540' Wilcox Sand Oil Pool, as used herein, shall be construed to mean those strata of the Wilcox formation productive of oil from the depths of 5540' - 5556' in the Sun Exploration and Production Company - A. G. Barnum Well No. 1, located in Section 50, Township 6 North, Range 2 West, Adams County, Mississippi, and such strata as is correlative therewith. H. The 5580' Wilcox Sand Oil Pool, as used herein, shall be construed to mean those strata of the Wilcox formation productive of oil from the depths of 5577' - 5590' in the Sun Exploration and Production Company - A. G. Barnum Well No. 5, located in Section 50, Township 6 North, Range 2 West, Adams County, Mississippi, and such strata as is correlative therewith. The above proposed definition appears to be complete and accurate and appropriate to adequately define the pools. 5. Petitioner has changed its corporate name since the date of the last amendment to the Special Field Rules, and said Rules should be amended to reflect this change. The existing Special Field Rules for the Mantua Field, Adams County, Missis sippi, appear to be workable and adequate and need no amending other than for the addition of the two new pool definitions and the change of Petitioner's corporate name. Petitioner has

I r -3- proposed that said Field Rules be amended in that regard only, so that the Field Rules when amended shall read precisely as shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto. The Board finds that these Field Rules as amended should be adopted. IT IS, THEREFORE, ORDERED AND ADJUDGED by the State Oil and Gas Board o*f Mississippi that the Special Field Rules for the Mantua Field, Adams County, Mississippi, should be and the same are hereby amended so as to define the 5540' Wilcox Sand Oil Pool and the 5580' Wilcox Sand Oil Pool as described in Paragraph 4 above, and to reflect Petitioner's correct corporate name, and said Special Field Rules, as amended, shall hereafter read as set forth on Exhibit "A" attached hereto.
