In Senate Switched from Projector & Screen to Large Screen TV Monitors Implemented New Programs for: Roll Call Voting Calendar Display Orders of the Day House and Senate Electronic Bill Book Master Program Streamlined Takes advantage of Bills residing inside SQL tables Bills, Amendments, Substitutes are delivered to Chamber Servers as they are released.

Statues converted from WORD Files to XML Reside on MS SQL Database New Statute Search Engine Indexing nearly instantaneous vs- hours old way More Accurate and Up To Date Per the KY Reviser of Statutes, Rob Williams: Preserves prior versions of statutes without having to manually move them to a separate directory Allows for setting of beginning and ending dates for versions of statutes which are enacted with delayed effective dates Displays a preview pane to show catchline and beginning text of the numeric statute file selected

ACTS System written to take advantage of SQL database Grid/Table interface Enables Delayed Effective Dates Dealing with Statute Conflicts Creating Special Reports and ACTS Publications Per the KY Reviser of Statutes, Rob Williams: Allows for generation of tables displaying statutes affected by each Act and contents of each Act by section and generation of precodification error reports Allows for designation of the appropriate Acts section to codify when multiple Acts amend the same statute and all of those amendments are merged into one Acts section Automatically generates a file for repealed statutes displaying the statute s catchline at the time of repeal and incorporates the repeal data into the statute history

Bill Drafting converted from WORD Files to XML Resides on MS SQL Database in XML Shell Program works with Word Editor and Database Per the KY Reviser of Statutes, Rob Williams: Allows for creation and identification of multiple versions of bill drafts using a unique document identification number Requires validation of statutes being amended to detect inappropriate additions to or deletions of statute text Allows a prior session bill draft to be saved as a current session bill draft and imports the prior bill s summary as well

New Language-Needs Bold Italic Underlining Deleted Text Reappears Needs Proper Bracket/Strike

Generates main portions of the budget bill & the Budget Memorandum work document.

Users, when authorized, can work in more than one version of a bill or bills at the same time. Balanced entries are required for all changes. (An override, which goes through BR mgt and OCIT technical, is possible if an unbalanced entry is needed.) Grids in the system can be resized as necessary based on the size of appropriations and an automatic reset is provided. Portions of language which had to be added manually in the old system, can now be done by BR staff. An on-screen audit trail is available to assist staff with tracking changes and corrections. Report options were added to allow for more condensed reports when required. The bill preview application was improved, allowing users to preview the bill draft and also to select exactly how much of the bill they want to preview. The new system allows comparison documents between various versions of the bill to be prepared with ease.

Add new users, Limit/restrict user access, Manage organizations Add appropriations, Revise names on appropriations, Delete appropriations, Manage fund sources Prepare statewide reports.

XML and database does away with multiple copies of the same file in multiple directories allowing for: New Web Development... Dynamic Web Pages for Bill Status & Downloads of Bill Documents Up To Date Statutes and Delivery (Delayed Effective dates for Amended, Reenacted, or Repealed Law) Improved Statute Search PDF Bill book in Chambers instead of word based. Budget System Produce All Parts of Budget Produce all Branches of Government Budgets
