Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) has decided that this year the Vigilance Awareness Week would be observed from 30 th October to 4 th November, 2017. The theme of the week would be My Vision-Corruption Free India ( म र लक ष य - भ रष ट च रम क तभ रत ). The observance of the Vigilance Awareness Week would commence with the Integrity Pledge by public servants in the Ministries/Departments/Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs)/Public Sector Banks (PSBs) and all other Organisations on 30 th October, 2017 at 11.00 a.m. Purpose: A. To educate the public at large about the corruption related practices B. Educating them how to report about it. C. It acts like a mass movement of involving people in saying no to corruption. Integrity Index will be developed for 25 organisations including Government organisations and PSUs.
Ministry of Tourism The Adopt a Heritage Scheme/अपन धर हर अपन पहच न of Ministry of Tourism was launched on World Tourism Day i.e. 27 th September, 2017 by the President of India. Thereafter, Ministry of Tourism invited Private Sector Companies, Public Sector Companies and Corporate individuals to adopt the sites and to take up the responsibility for making our heritage and tourism more sustainable through conservation and development. This scheme is a unique endeavour of Ministry of Tourism in close collaboration with Ministry of Culture and Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) which envisages developing monuments, heritage and tourist sites across India and making them tourist friendly to enhance their tourism potential and cultural importance, in a planned and phased manner. India is renowned across the World for its rich and diverse cultural and natural heritage.
Shri K.J. Alphons, Minister of State (I/C) for Tourism has written to Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh regarding the brutal attack on two Switzerland citizens at Fatehpur Sikri yesterday. In his letter Shri K.J. Alphons said that: I am deeply concerned that two Switzerland citizens were attacked and injured at Fatehpur Sikri yesterday. You would kindly appreciate that such incidents negatively impact our image and are detrimental to our efforts in promoting India as a tourism destination. A fast and speedy response in identifying and ensuring speedy action including conviction of the guilty would be reassuring, as also a good message of our efforts to prevent recurrence of such incidents.
Ministry of Power Union Minister of State (IC) for Power and New & Renewable Energy, Shri R. K. Singh addressed the 3 rd Global Investors India Forum, here today. The theme of the event was Ideate, Innovate, Implement and Invest in India and it was attended by global industry stalwarts. It is expected that the per capita energy consumption would expand at a breakneck speed, tripling in the next 5-7 years. The Minister assured the members of Industry that the Government would extend all possible support and remove all impediments in the path of investments in the power sector. Shri Singh also informed the gathering that in the near future, to keep pace with this rapid change in the Renewable Energy Sector, Industry needs to partner with the Government in investing in Green Energy Corridors, Battery Storage Technology, Grid Improvement, Electric Vehicles Programme etc.
