Application for rate increase by Sanlando Utilities Corporation On July 1, 2014 Sanlando Utilities Corporation (Sanlando) filed a petition with the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC or Commission) for a rate increase. Sanlando serves approximately 10,200 water and 8,400 wastewater customers in Seminole County. 1 Is there an opportunity for public input on this rate case? Yes. As part of the evaluation process for Sanlando s rate request, the Commission staff will conduct a customer meeting to allow feedback about Sanlando and the ratesetting process. Customer comments, written and oral, will be taken into consideration before the Commission reaches a decision. One or more Commissioners may attend and participate during the customer meeting. At the time of filing, the average monthly water and wastewater bills for a residential customer using 15,000 gallons of water per month were $20.77 and $32.35 respectively. 2 Why is Sanlando requesting a rate increase? Sanlando states that it is requesting a rate increase to cover operating costs and earn a fair rate of return on its investment.
