Who we are ATUC is a grouping of 18 national labor centres, in 9 ASEAN states, representing some 5 million workers. ATUC and AP have worked on (6) Establishment of a COMPLAINTS, REPORTING & MONITORING MECHANIMS o Standard Complaint Form o Process Flow o ATUC Info System of Migrant Workers (ATIS) --under construction

ATUC MW Complaints Mechanism, Process Flow & Referral System o Shows the process flow in handling complaints or inquiry by migrant workers or their representatives. o The mechanism proceeds to the referral system when the national trade union centre refers migrant workers to government agencies, partner civil society organisations (CSOs)/non-government organisations (NGOs) or other national trade union centres for appropriate intervention. Each process shows who is responsible and outline of action for every process.

Adopted the Inter-Union Agreement on Cooperation to Promote Decent Work (24 Sept. 2014) o promote ratification of ILO Con. 97, 143, 189 o support measures for employment in place of migration o Organize migrant workers; o Provide legal services o Include migrant concerns in CBAs o Social protection & OSH o MRA for vulnerable sectors o Establishment/strengthening of MIC o ATIS, others

Affiliates designated FOCAL POINTS ON MIGRANT LABOR o Ensure information exchange among affiliates; o Coordinate/communicate with partners (the affiliate, ATUC Secretariat); o Assist in the implementation of the affiliate s programs on migrant labour; o Provide agreed information for the ATUC Information System on Migrant Workers (ATIS), including monitoring reports; o Seek appointment for meetings with the government agencies and other relevant organizations, including ASEAN and the country s ASEAN focal point, whenever necessary; o Provide monthly record of progress and other events and activities.

ATUC Nine Priority Programs

ATUC 9 priority programs Anchored on the overall objective of ASEAN cooperation: towards the vision of a better quality of life, productive employment, and adequate social protection for ASEAN peoples through enhancing workforce competitiveness, creating a harmonious and progressive workplace, and promotion of decent work for all.

ATUC 9 priority programs..and in the ASEAN Labour Ministers Vision Statement of 2000 stated inter alia that in order to facilitate regional integration, We shall work closely with workers, employers, civil society, and other organizations to provide a favourable environment for economic growth and employment creation, as a key strategy to accelerate economic recovery and growth.
