Student Organization Resource Fee (SORF) Board Thursday, November 8th, 2018 Illini Union, Room 405 Pre-Meeting Minutes Chairman Noah Gilbert, Presiding 5:00 PM a. RSO Presentations 1. Combat Robotics i. The Fall 3 request was zero-funded because Combotics 2021 is no longer a registered organization. Combotics 2021 existed last year but not this semester. The treasurer of the organization appealed on moving the Fall 3 period request to be under the organization Combat Robotics instead. 2. Champaign-Urbana Business & Engineering Consulting i. The organization attends a conference in Atlanta every year. The representative asked for adjustments on the number of attendees (10-9 persons), airfare fee ($180-$175/person), the registration fee ($60-$80), the lodging fees(reduction). 3. Minorities in Pre-Medicine i. The representative is going to a conference this weekend. The travel method indicated in the Fall 3 request was to use zip-car. University legal counsel is providing further information regarding if the organization event is allowed under SORF standards and restrictions. The organization says this will show diversity across the campus, advertise, and raise awareness for their organization by having the uniform. SORF is in discussions on how to define uniform. The organization will not purchase the uniform until next march. SORF has communicated with the organization about this, and they are aware and in agreement that they cannot use the university trademark on the sail.
