Meeting called to order by the Zoning Secretary, Patrice Johnson. A motion was made by Wade Schenaydre, seconded by Morrie Bishop, to appoint Julio Dumas as Chairman Pro Tem. 2. Roll call of members: The following members were present for Roll Call: Present: Morrie Bishop, Aaron Chaisson, Wade Schexnaydre, and Julio Dumas Absent: Anthony Christy, Ken Firmin, and Matthew Pryor 3. Minutes A. Acceptance of the Minutes of the May 10, 2017 Meeting Commission Action: A motion was made by Aaron Chaisson, seconded by Morrie Bishop to accept the minutes of the May 10, 2017 Zoning Commission meeting with correction. A Yea and Nay vote was called and resulted as follows: Yeas: Morrie Bishop, Aaron Chaisson and Wade Schexnaydre Nays: None Absent: Anthony Christy, Ken Firmin, and Matthew Pryor The Chairman Pro Tem (Julio Dumas) did not vote. 3 Yeas, 1 Nays, 3 Absent and the motion carried. 4. Chairman s Comments There were no Chairman s Comments. 5. Public Hearing to Amend the Ascension Parish Development Code for Recommendation for Approval or Denial to the Ascension Parish Council A. Zoning Review ID PZ-1329.17-Z Lot 7 Stafford Heights Subdivision for Michael Matthews Located on the east side of LA Highway 44 approximately 150 south of Ethel Road to request to amend the Ascension Parish Zoning Map from Medium Intensity Residential (RM) to Mixed Use 2 (MU2) Mr. Michael Matthews, property owner, presented the request to rezone the property located on the east side of LA Highway 44 approximately 150 south of Ethel Road from Medium Intensity Residential (RM) to Mixed Use 2 (MU2). During Public Comment Period, Jude Bridwell, Glenn Arton, Rodney Andrade and Theresa Andrade spoke against the rezoning request due to not wanting additional commercial property adjacent to their homes. Commission Action: A motion was made by Morrie Bishop to recommend APPROVAL to the Parish Council to amend the Ascension Parish Zoning Map to rezone the property located on the east side of LA Highway 44 approximately 150 south of Ethel Road from Medium Intensity Residential (RM) to Mixed Use 2 (MU2). Motion died due to lack of a second.

Zoning Commission 2 Commission Action: A motion was made by Aaron Chaisson, seconded by Wade Schexnaydre, to recommend DENIAL to the Parish Council to amend the Ascension Parish Zoning Map to rezone the property located on the east side of LA Highway 44 approximately 150 south of Ethel Road from Medium Intensity Residential (RM) to Mixed Use 2 (MU2). A Yea and Nay vote was called and resulted as follows: Yeas: Aaron Chaisson, Wade Schexnaydre Nays: Morrie Bishop Absent: Anthony Christy, Ken Firmin, and Matthew Pryor The Chairman Pro-Temp (Julio Dumas) did not vote. 2 Yeas, 1 Nays, 3 Absent and the motion carried. B. Zoning Review ID PZ-1331.17-Z for America Homeland LLC. Located on the west side of S. St. Landry Road approximately 2000 south of Holly Hill Drive to request to amend the Ascension Parish Zoning Map from Conservation (C) to Medium Intensity Residential (RM) Removed from the agenda by the applicant prior to the meeting. 6. Contract Agreement A. Zoning Review ID PZ-1364.17 Lot 6 and Lot 15 of Commerce Centre Located on the north side of Market Place Drive approximately 400 west of Airline Highway to request approval of a contract agreement. Commission Action: A motion was made by Wade Schexnaydre, seconded by Aaron Chaisson to approve the contract agreement for Lot 6 and 15 of Commerce Centre/Prairieville General Hospital located on the north side of Market Place Drive approximately 400 west of Airline Highway. A Yea and Nay vote was called and resulted as follows: Yeas: Morrie Bishop, Aaron Chaisson and Wade Schexnaydre Nays: None Absent: Anthony Christy, Ken Firmin, and Matthew Pryor The Chairman Pro Tem (Julio Dumas) did not vote. 3 Yeas, 1 Nays, 3 Absent and the motion carried. 7. Modification of the Ascension Parish Parking Standards Commission Action: A motion was made by Aaron Chaisson, seconded by Morrie Bishop to hold a public hearing at the July 12, 2017 Zoning Commission Meeting to consider modification of the Ascension Parish parking standards. A Yea and Nay vote was called and resulted as follows: Yeas: Morrie Bishop, Aaron Chaisson and Wade Schexnaydre Nays: None Absent: Anthony Christy, Ken Firmin, and Matthew Pryor The Chairman Pro Tem (Julio Dumas) did not vote. 3 Yeas, 1 Nays, 3 Absent and the motion carried. 8.
