LWF extends clean water to vulnerable communities like refugee settlements by drilling and motorising boreholes. LWF has drilled 707 borehole hand pumps and established 22 motorised systems in Uganda. Women Economic Empowerment is one of the core areas of LWF. LWF upholds Environment Protection among vulnerable communities. LWF promotes the use of clean and renewable energy, tree planting and conservation of endangered tree species. LWF works towards improved sanitation and hygiene. LWF supports education in Uganda s refugee settlements by constructing classroom blocks. LWF has constructed 270 classrooms in Uganda s refugee settlements to provide thousands of children access to education. With Rights Based Approach, LWF trains groups in financial management and business skills. LWF identifies and nurtures talent among youth in Uganda s refugee settlements through Talent Search Competitions. LWF provides fully constructed modest shelters to persons with special needs in Uganda s refugee settlements.
