ASA District 1 shuffleboard spring meeting Greenfield Village Ballroom Saturday February 16, 2019 1:00 pm The President (Sylvia Smith) being in the chair and the secretary (Susan Robnolte) being present. President Sylvia Smith called the meeting to order, gave the invocation and led the group in reciting the international pledge. Roll call by secretary was taken, a quorum was determined. Player placement: Doug Kersey welcomed State President Dale Monday to the meeting. Last year we had 13 players This year we had 4 players Late start leagues: 145 members/17 teams Early start leagues: 4 leagues/5 teams in each league Nominations There were six positions for nominations: President DOUG KERSEY, 1 st vice VICKI BURR, 2 nd vice MILLIE HOLTZ, Treasurer ALICE ANDERSON Secretary SUSAN ROBNOLTE Webmaster SHEILA MONDAY. Bill Storck asked the attending membership three times for any nominations from the floor for each of the executive board positions. Hearing none, the secretary was instructed to cast a unanimous vote in favor of above nominees. Alice Anderson gave notice she may step down after next year from the treasures position and for someone else to run for that position. Alice has been treasure for 12 years. Western States Regional Director Report: 38 th ISA world champion singles tournament is in Vienna Austria. Applications on national shuffleboard web site till March 30 th. Western: $15.00 per person entry. PARKS, Golden Vista, Super Sun, Sunland Springs Village. Good Life: Will be held next year at Good Life. Wilf Clark Mixed Doubles: 112 entries this year, 128 entries last year. Dist. 1 split singles: 44 entries, 32 men, 12 women Christmas Cash: 64 entries, will be held at Greenfield again next year. Venture-Out any doubles: 56 teams, needs to make corrections on flyers for next year. Sports Days Mixed Doubles: Had 80 teams play. Next year name will change to ALLYN DEWOLFE MEMORIAL. Dist. 1 Mixed Doubles: 28 teams played Bud Walrath National Singles: 64 men and 32 women Shamrock Shuffle: Open to any players, single tournament.
Senior Olympics: Sign-up by 17 th of February on line or call Ruth Hugen or Daryl Potter to enter morning of deadline. Easter Bunny: No Report Good of Order: Doug Kersey reminded everyone that tournament entry for next year will be $10.00 to help for expenses. Doug is concerned that league players are not getting noticed for awards and wants a generic plaque given to everyone, it was suggested he put it in writing and present it at fall meeting agenda for everyone to read. Unfinished Business: None New Business: Gordon Pollock suggested electronic entry to tournaments. Sheila Monday will look into it. Dale Monday Motioned for vote on Notice of motion to be added to paragraph 10 Doug Kersey 2 nd, motion was passed. 13 people will be going to state meeting on March 2 nd in Casa Grande.
