Living at The Gardens The Newsletter of The Gardens at Calvary Volume 16 November 2016 Issue 11 Answered Prayer Several months ago, Jennifer Williamson, head of Resident Services came to me and expressed her desire to return to frontline nursing. Knowing Jennifer s walk and commitment to the Lord, it was clear she was in tune to God s leading. In addition, you only need to watch her interact with our Elders and you know without a doubt this is where she is gifted. So we began to pray that God would lead and unfold His plan for not only Jennifer, but for The Garden s ministry to our Elders. God s faithfulness never disappoints, and I am constantly reminded of Ephesians 3:20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. I would like to take a moment to share in the celebration to this answered prayer. Jennifer has accepted the position as our 2 nd shift Licensed Practical Nurse. The other part of our prayer was for God to bring us the right person to lead Resident Services. I could go on and on about God s perfect timing and all the intricate details He worked out that led us here, but for sake of space, let me say God has brought us a gift. I am so excited to introduce you to our new Director of Resident Services, Jeannie Smith. No, we are not kin, but I am humbled to say, she is a sweet sister in Christ. She loves and is deeply committed to the Calvary Ministries. When I told her she was our answer to prayer and a gift from God she said, That s how I feel about coming to serve here at The Gardens; it too is my gift. Jeannie was born in Columbus and spent the majority of her life here. She is a Registered Nurse, and she comes with great experience and a heart of a caregiver. She began her nursing career at Cobb Hospital, Phenix City. She spent 25 years working at St. Francis Hospital, Columbus, holding Director positions in Telemetry, Critical Care and Patient Care Services. She has one daughter-andrea- who works in research for FOX 54. Jeannie s hobbies include reading, walking, and spending time with family Now, I know you will be excited to meet Jeannie, so please plan to join us as we warmly welcome her to The Garden s family. God Bless, Laurie Smith Executive Director
