Activity, outcome /scope of work: Coordinated West Texas Adult Probations work assignments with supervisors, Wednesday and Saturday a.m. of each week. Cleared weeds, debris, trimmed trees and shrubs. Repaired and filled 180 flat headstones of sunken or damaged graves. Cleared weeds from Chinese Cemetery. Cleared weeds from Mormon Cemetery. Smoothed internal Roads Trimmed 125 agave plants. Cleaned outside perimeter of Cemetery (Stevens, Yandell, Boone and Gateway West). Emptied trash containers into dumpsters. Trimmed Texas Sage bushes. Buffalo Soldier Memorial area ongoing curbing inside Cemetery to protect graves from unauthorized vehicle traffic. Manufactured three frames for County Rules and Procedures Signs (Buffalo Soldier Memorial Monument entrance, Yandell/Travis entrance and Boone Street entrance) Performed preventative maintenance on all equipment. Distributed ant control chemicals on all areas in vicinity of Walk Through History traffic. Disposed of 15 dead Century plants at end of growing season. Description of impact of advertising plan and how it was measured: Tourism programs promoting the Cemetery to schools, civic and community organizations, regional living history functions 2192 Cemetery tours to visitors and out of town tourists - Researched 15 requests for grave locations. Published and mail Grave Concerns newsletter to local and out of town members, October, November 120 each month. Secured donations through programs, performances, cemetery tours, dues, research, ghost tours, Buffalo Soldier Memorial Monument, Walk Through History, Dia de Los Muertos of $2304. Provided coverage to True West Magazine October and December, 44,000 circulation monthly, regional publications in New Mexico via Las Cruces Sun News Times, Alamogordo Daily News, Ruidoso News and locally to El Diario Newspaper, El Paso Inc., El Paso Times, UTEP s Prospector Newspaper. Activity or event partners: (1) West Texas Corrections and Community Service Adult Probation workers approximately 75-150 workers each Wednesday and Saturday mornings 7 11:30 a.m. October 1 December 31, 2010, total hours 13,765. Valued at $7.25/hr, totals in-kind donation of $99,796.25 Source and in-kind donations Concordia Heritage Association does not have a paid staff to carry out the goals of the Association. Volunteers perform all planning, meetings, reports, activities and fund raising events, donating approximately thousands of hours annual. Board meetings are held monthly the third Thursday except December. CHA volunteer hours for October 1 December 31, 2010 860 hours valued at $20.25 per hour, in kind donation of $17,415. Fundraisers such as tours, performances, donations, dues, research, ghost tours, Buffalo Soldiers Memorial Monument, grants, Secret Society of John Wesley Hardin, Walk Through History Day at Concordia, Dia de Los Muertos income for this period; $2,304 Community Partners: (1) Eagle Scout from Franklin Mountain LDS Stake project of Mormon Cemetery restoration. 15 hours, in-kind service at $7.25 per hour $108.75. (2) Buffalo Soldiers Motorcyle Club raised and lowered flags at Buffalo Soldier Monument each weekend and holiday, donating 48 hours, inkind service donated at $20.25 per hour of $972.00. (3) Six Guns and Shady Ladies, Wild West re-enactors donated 250 hours for fundraisers (Dia De Los Muertos Fundraiser and Walk Through History ), 250 hours, in kind service donation at $20.25 per hour of $5,062.50.. (4) El Paso County Historical Commission assisted in preservation matters. (5) Serna Ranch donated tractor pulled hay wagon for Walk Through History transporting visitors around the Cemetery, in-kind service of 40 hours at $20.25.of $90, plus value of equipment. (6) Masonic Lodge 130 donates meeting site for Probationers supervisors each Wednesday and Saturday morning, weekly.
