www.artassociationinroxbury.org April 2018 Our March presentation by our very own Mike Dzombia was terrific. He explained how he builds floating frames for oil or acrylic paintings, his original design not only saves money over traditional framing but they look really great too. He also showed us how he paints lifelike foliage. By mixing a few different colors he created an array of greens and earthtones of all different values which were then used to build depth into the painting. Along with the demo came a lot of great information on sealing paintings, the uses of many different tools and analysis of different paint brands. It was a very informative demo. Board/Trustees Meeting General Meeting begins at 7:15 PM Roxbury Senior Center, 72 Eyland Avenue, Succasunna NJ Danielle Mick will be doing our April demonstration on abstract painting. We have Julie Friedman doing the professional critique in June and Roger McCoach is giving a photography demonstration in September. Please note that the pickup date has changed for our Spring Show at the County College of Morris running May 23rd through June 29th. (Receiving Wed. 5/23 2-4, Pick up Fri. 6/29 1-3 and the Reception is Thursday 6/14 6-8, info now on website) The Annual Member Show will be at the Morris County Library in October. Come September there will be a need for volunteers in the following areas, hospitality, shows, trips, workshops, demonstrations, and membership. The president position will be up for election as well. All positions require minimal time and are necessary to keep the club active so please consider helping out. Please visit the website for information on future demonstrations, our local exhibit venues, and shows. You can also check out our members beautiful artwork!
