1 2 BEFORE THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF FOOD AND AGRICULTURE 3 4 5 In the matter of appointing members to committees of the Citrus Research Board as recommended by the Citrus Research Board Chair to the California Department of Food and Agriculture Order of the California Department of Food and Agriculture Appointing Members to the Committees of the Citrus Research Board for a Term beginning Immediately and Continuing until September 30, 2018 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 WHEREAS, the California Department of Food and Agriculture (Department acting pursuant to and by virtue of the authority vested in it by the provisions of the California Marketing Act (Act, being Chapter 1 of Part 2, Division 21 of the California Food and Agricultural Code, issued the Citrus Improvement Program (Program, which became effective October 24, 1968, and incorporates amendments through June 1, 2017, and is now also known as the California Citrus Research Program; and WHEREAS, Section J of Article II of said Program provides for the establishment of committees to assist the Citrus Research Board (Board, the administrative agency that assists the Department in the administration of the Program, in executing its duties; and WHEREAS, the Policy Manual for the Program (8 th Edition, approved by the Department on March 25, 2015, authorizes the Board Chairperson to make recommendations to the Department for appointments to committees; and WHEREAS, the Board Chairperson has recommended to the Department the approval of committee members to the following committees: Production Efficiency Research Committee, New Varieties Research Committee, Vectored Diseases Research Committee, Post-Harvest Diseases & Technology Research Committee, Pest Management Research Committee, Citrus Clonal Protection Program (CCPP Committee, Communications Committee, Diagnostic Laboratory Technical Advisory Committee, Early Detection Technology Task Force, Executive Committee, Finance Committee, Joint Agency Biological Control Task Force, Management Review and Assessment Committee, Nominating Committee, Quality Assurance Program Committee, Research Development and Implementation Committee, and the Research Priority Screening Committee, as listed on Exhibit A attached to this Order; NOW, THEREFORE, the Department, acting pursuant to and by virtue of the authority vested in it by said Act and said Program, does hereby appoint members to committees of the Citrus Research Board as listed on Exhibit A, attached hereto and made a part hereof, for a term of office beginning immediately and ending September 30, 2018, or until their successors are appointed and have qualified. 26 27 28 DATE: March 1, 2018 ROBERT MAXIE, Chief Marketing Branch Department of Food and Agriculture Citrus Research Board Order of the Department 2018 0301 2018 0301 4268 Appointing Members to Committees
