Project Summary The project promoted by AICS and 9 partners born with the ambition to promote and stimulate projects to promote social inclusion for migrants. In SPECIFIC we want to offer innovative possibilities of education, training and employment for disadvantaged community, a fighting discrimination and define a new agenda for integration of migrants. The project aims to: promote participation in democratic life in Europe, active citizenship, intercultural dialogue, solidarity and foster quality improvements in youth work; Increase the International Dimension of the activities in the youth sector and the role of youth workers and the involved organizations. The MAW's specific objectives are : Improving Theoretical Knowledge Of Operators and committed social worker in inclusion projects and integration of migrants. share best practices adopted from the Organizations on the theme of inclusion and integration of migrants. Improving the quality of services from partner organizations on the local and national Strengthen the partnership among the organizations involved also for future international projects on the subject of inclusion. Promote Advocacy Actions MIGRANTS ARE WELCOME includes a INTERNATIONAL MEETING (1/5 October 2018) to be held in Ciampino, Rome where will be drafted the Guidance Document for inclusion projects and will be started a web campaign against racism Each partner will involve 4 young people (25/30 age), plus 1 expert on youth policy and immigration. The project will involve 18 participants with fewer opportunities (9 migrants and 9 with economic difficulties) for a total of 45 participants. 2

Maw's direct beneficiaries are young people who work, or aspire to be included, in the staff of partner organizations engaged in the implementation of social inclusion projects for migrants. We expect the organization of 9 local dissemination events with a participation of at least 100 young people at a total of 900 young people; the launch of a web campaign (discussed in Rome) at the same time by all 9 partners; and the future participation of participants in other international mobility projects, the organization of other social inclusion projects for migrants to be developed in local partner communities. The project includes a transnational meeting, held in Ciampino, Rome from 1 to 5 October 2018 and organised by SOS Europa and AICS with the support of all partners. The activities will be carried out using non formal methods, such as Open Space Technology (OST), Focused Conversation, Future Search Conference, and Structured Dialogue. The planning and subject of the activities are based on SALTO publications, such as "Working on Work for All" e "InclusionthroughEmployability". The YouthPass certificate will be delivered to each participant. To disseminate the results of the projects 3

and the programme Erasmus Plus outside the Italian borders, it will be used several means of divulgation. The MAW s specific objectives are: Creating resilience and bringing the stigmatization to an end sensitizing the young people and by allowing them to learn how to safeguard their own mental health and to communicate with their peers - Overcome the fear and the intolerance. Allowing youth to have direct contact with people from different backgrounds, which live in different realities, in order to enhance intercultural skills, to fight discrimination, to promote the empathy and solidarity and to bring to life the benefits of the diversity. Encouraging the involvement of the young people inside the society, in particular for vulnerable groups. - Restore youth s fate in European project. Tackling cases of intolerance, xenophobia and racism. Improving the theoretical knowledge of operators and social workers involved in project of inclusion and integration of migrants. Creating a document with guidelines for the organizations to adopt for a socioeducational work of quality in case of implementation of social inclusion for the migrants projects. Sharing best practices adopted by the organizations on the subject of inclusion and integrations of migrants. Increasing the partnerships between the organisations involved to promote the implementation of future projects based on the inclusion topic. About SOS EUROPA SOS EUROPA is an independent NGO based in Rome. It was created to spread the European cultural values and for improving integration inside and outside the Union, encouraging mobility of young people 4

by promoting cultural exchange and knowledges exchange, participatory and active European citizenship, networking opportunities. The Association is nonprofit and seeks esclusively scopes of social, human, civil and cultural solidarity and of ethic research. The Association organizes courses, training, seminars and is partner of several European projects. It was founded in January 2016 by young people who have been working in associations and deal with EU issues, and it employs a team of passionate young volunteers, experts in Project Planning and European policies.in particular SOS EUROPA pursues primarily the following aims: commitment to the creation of an intercultural and supportive society, that is directed to encounter and exchange with the Other; education to civil liability and active citizenship; to develop awareness, social consciousness and competence in young generations; promotion of youth and social policies; cultural education and youth policy at European and international level; promotion of youth mobility in cultural, educational and work opportunities; support for young artists, in the fields of visual arts, theater, music, performing arts and creative freedom in general; to promote free flow of ideas and spread of free software in computer world; to promote and to develop paths of non-formal education. SOS Europa is partner of the third edition of Italian Gaymes, cultural sporting event against sex discrimination, and Euro 2019 Gaymes partners, a sporting event for the LGBT community. SOS Europa is one of the founders of the Italian National Gay Friendly Team (www.nazionalegay.it). SOS Europa periodically organizes courses about europlanning for its volunteers.headquartered in Rome, SOS Europa wants to be a reference point for people and organizations interested in the dynamics of European integration. We are a no-profit social NGO, with experience in the social and educational sector and a big commitment in the mutualistic field, supporting the general interests of the Community; in the human promotion and the social integration of citizens, encouraging paths based on socialization and solidarity. We are experts in planning and dealing with socio-medical and educational services for the individual, the family and entire social groups in order to prevent difficult situations, permit the cure, the rehabilitation and the integration in everyday life of people with problems. that distinguish us are quality, professionalism and personalization in the assistance as well as monitoring and innovation in our processes and our activities. The most important aspect of our activities is the active participation of the People in need respecting their individuality, their dignity, their rights and their life.we promote the cure of the people who work, respecting their dignity and defending their rights. ABOUT AICS L AICS Associazione Italiana Cultura Sport is a no-profit association, born in 1962 in Rome as national body for sports promotion. From this area, over the years it extended progressively its own scope to the solidarity, the culture, the social policies, third sector, the social tourism, the environment, the care of outcasts and people with disabilities, the civil protection and the education. Firmly attached to the roots of laic humanism and coherent with the ethics of its historical memory, AICS feels the need to repeat its own social function and the role that sport for all and the culture have in the paths of the active citizenships and reorganization of new welfare system. AICS, following the guiding principles of the Libro Bianco of the European Union, turns a particular attention towards the right of all to the sport as instrument for the psychophysical wealth, the individual training, the integration and equal opportunity, the health protection, the fight against racism and violence, and to promote the sustainable development. AICS, getting (having) as institutional goal the promotion and the organisation of the physical and sporting activities with recreational and training purpose, is recognized by CONI as National Body for Sports Promotion; is also recognized by Ministry of the Interior as body with social services, by Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs as Association of Social Promotion, by Ministry of Social Solidarity for the activities on behalf of the immigrants and by Civil Protection Department under the Presidency of the Council of Ministries as voluntary organization. Finally, it s settled with the Office of the Justice for the activities of prevention of juvenile unease and the social reintegration. AICS adheres to FITuS (Italian Federation of Social 6

Tourism) organization which deals with important initiatives to encourage the support to social tourism and of citizenship (like the one of Buoni Vacanze) and to the permanent forum of the third sector, for big social battles and the support and promotion of the organizations participating the third sector. in the last years, it has supported actions of aid and support by activating synergies with partners, such as Telefono Azzurro and Telethon. At international level, it maintains a dense serie of reports with associations with educational, sports, cultural, environmental, tourism and based on solidarity purpose, that counts millions of members in the whole world; AICS is also member of the CSIT ( Confédération Sportive Internationale Travailliste et Amateur) and of the OITS (Organisation International du Tourisme Social). The structure of AICS is organized in 20 regional committees and 120 Provincials (over a large number of Territorial Delegates), to which they can affiliate sporting societies and circles in harmony with statuesque aims of the Associations. AICS is settled on over the entire national territory, thank to about 12.000 partnerships which constitute the bones of a booming polycentric network, that adhere about 850.000 partners motivated by a sense of identity and belonging. Learning Outcomes The entire project, and in particular the training activity which will be in Rome from 1 to 5 October 2018, plans to give the participants the specific knowledge properly linked: knowledge in legal field, related the legislation that governs the sector and to the administrative procedures on immigration; knowledge of the organization and of the functioning of the public institutions directed to the management of the phenom and of the network of services e accommodation facilities which work on local and national field; knowledge the methodology and best operational practices provided for the management of projects based on inclusion and social cohesion for migrants; 7

knowledge of the main theoretical and conceptual references on the subject of effective organizational models effective for the the achievement of objectives of social cohesion and of implementation of public policies with the local institutions, being capable of stimulating the development of skills linked to the promotion of the autonomy of the migrants on local area; being able of improving the capacity of raising awareness among the local communities to the intercultural logics of shared citizenship; being capable of guiding and making aware the local authorities on the new migrations and the best practices of hosting; knowing the contents of the European Agenda on the migration topic. MAW also wants: to facilitate and to promote the cross-sectoral cooperation and the partnerships among young organisations and youth workers in order to develop integrated approaches as regards programs of social inclusion of migrants. Encouraging the use of a non formal learning methodology in order to promote the development of social skills and abilities linked to democratic values and human rights as expression of freedom and respect for diversity, through the daily practice of democratic principles; Developing the technological skills, which allow youth to access, to manage, to valuate and to create helpful online informations; Stimulating the participation of young people to the elections and in the area of the formal structures of participatory democracy, such as political parties; Organizing and promoting campaigns against intolerance, hate and discrimination towards the migrants ( in the phase of follow up of this project is planned the combined launch of a web campaign on the topic adopted simultaneously by all the partner organizations); 8

Promoting European Programs to support youth, like Erasmus +: Sharing best practices, personally getting to know young people from others countries involved in similars activities. For the organisations involved the objective remains to consolidate the cooperation bound in order to improve and to increase the mass more like ambitious in the field of planning. The project wants to stimulate the following abilities: Listening and communication skills; Teamwork skills; Critical thinking: analyzing the information and making decisions based on it; Being able to promote and to safeguard the foreign citizenship in local and global terms; Flexibility and capacity to solve interpersonal conflicts; Capacity to work in collaboration, to participate and to organize social groups; Creativity and planning; Drafting a proposal in medium to long term; Attitudes / Behaviors: sense of responsibility and commitment for self-development and social change; Positive attitudes towards the diversity and the respect of human rights; Before the meeting Each partner will have to contribute to spread the survey http://www.soseuropa.it/survey-migrants-are-welcome/ in order to raise most of to reach the highest concentration of testimony and matters on the subject. Each partner will have to create a brief video to load on the facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/190093768378949/) of the project, which tells a best practice on the migrants inclusion topic (with the possible participation of the migrants) Travelling to Italy 9

All participants are expected to arrive in Ciampino Airport or Fiumicino Airports. The Erasmus+ rules stipulate participants need to travel using the cheapest means of transport, economy class, direct route without long stopovers. Please see travel cost section below for details of travel reimbursement policy. Although participants can plan their travel individually and arrive earlier/depart later, the organisers can only commit to reimburse and organise board and lodging during the mentioned training days. If you plan to travel outside the official project dates (01/05 October 2018) you should contact us providing the reasons and buy ticket only if permission granted, otherwise you would not get reimbursement. Stopovers of more than 12 hours need to be agreed with the Italian NA. Participants travel costs from their home city to CIAMPINO (Rome) will be reimbursed according to Erasmus+ Programme rules and SOS EUROPA regulations (we are subject to Italian legislation in terms of accounting and book-keeping). Insurance Health insurance is not provided and will not be reimbursed by the organisers. All participants are strongly advised to purchase private travel insurance. All EU residents should obtain European Health Insurance Cards (EHIC) before the course. Please note that private health care in Italy is extremely costly. Preparatory process Each delegation of the participants of the respective partners will have to prepare: Presentation of its own organization Presentation results and details of virtuous projects realized in the past (or still in progress) based on the inclusion of migrants. Preparing a brief reporting of the situation in its own country about the topic - Preparing with the selected migrants a presentation of its reality, history, ideas and solutions. Preparing a short reporting of its country through food, music, dance or other characteristics to show exhibit doing the intercultural evening.
