Mayor Susan R. Marshall called the regular meeting of the Tuckerton Borough Council to order on April 2, 2018 at 7:00 pm in the Borough Hall. Provisions of the Open Public Meetings Act were complied with as notice was published to the Tuckerton Beacon and the Asbury Park Press stating the time, date and place of this meeting. The following members of Council were in attendance: Keith Vreeland, John Schwartz, Sam Colangelo, Doris Mathisen, Mike Santo, Ron Peterson and Mayor Susan R. Marshall. Mayor Marshall led the salute to the flag. Mayor Marshall read a proclamation designating Library Week for the year 2018 and presented said written proclamation to the new Librarian of the Tuckerton Library. MAYOR AND COUNCIL FORUM Mr. Colangelo stated the Public Works yard will be opening on Sundays starting April 8, 2018, brush collection is still continuing and that he hopes to have the shredder program at the public works yard in July of this year. RESOLUTION #77-18 NEW JERSEY, AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF CLAIMS Mr. Schwartz moved, second by Mr. Vreeland that Resolution #71-18 be approved authorizing payment of claims in the amount of $848,955.43. Mrs. Mathisen moved, second by Mr. Santo that the governing body approves two (2) raffles to be held on May 2018 with waiver of fee for the Episcopal Church Women of the Holy Spirit. Mr. Peterson moved second by Mr. Santo that the governing body approve a facility use form for the Tuckerton Beach Association on July 11 and 12, 2018. Mr. Vreeland moved, second by Mr. Colangelo that the governing body approve the road solicitation permit for the Tuckerton Volunteer Fire Department. Pat Johnson, The Sandpaper/Leader asked why the increase of 3 cents It was stated that there are a lot of variables contributing to the 3 cents so it is very hard to pinpoint just one thing. Joseph Kaufman, Parker Road, asked if the Borough plans to beautify the Public Works yard at any point this year. year. Councilman Colangelo stated that is something the Borough is looking to fix this There being no further comments or questions, Mr. Colangelo moved, second by Mr. Vreeland that the public portion be closed.
