Nomination Information The MARFY Youth Achievement Awards have been a special tradition for provider agencies and their families and youth for many years. In a field that is often focused on the challenges of our youth and work, it is an evening to celebrate hard work, success and growth. Whether you have young people who have achieved major goals, or youth whose accomplishments are more personal and extraordinary for them, we want to acknowledge it and all they have had to rise above to get there. Please help us make this year s reception a success by helping us reach the following goals: 1. At least 20 youth being nominated for an award and having staff, family and others there to celebrate. To help make this happen: We have a great program, focused on the youth. We have a beautiful location in Howard County. We have promotional information that can be shared. 2. To create an atmosphere of celebration. We have planned a slide show of award winners to help the program to go smoothly. We are encouraging appropriate reception dress. 3. To increase the positive exposure of our programs and youth with community and other stakeholders. We will have accomplished individuals to make remarks to the youth. We plan to have dignitaries there member agencies can help by inviting legislators/media in their area. 4. To have this event serve as one way that we accomplish our strategic goal to give voice to children and families. a. We are giving the youth the opportunity to identify a caregiver who has made an impact on their life and acknowledging that person with a certificate. b. We have asked the youth to share their words of wisdom and will display their responses in a slideshow. c. We will follow up with the youth and their families to gather their stories and get their input into how the system of care can be improved.
