The Civil Surgeon has, on the request of prison administration, prepared a list of doctors, posted in the district hospital, who come on a daily visit at 12:30 pm. Alert! Most of the inmates working in the kitchen don t have any idea of the daily remuneration they get for the work in the kitchen. Except 2 of them, all have been
working for more than 2-3 months and have not been paid any money for their kitchen work. Under Trail Prisoners were found working in the Kitchen and were not sure remuneration for the work in the kitchen. They had no record with them to keep track of the number of days they have been working in kitchen, thus calculating per day payment after a considerable amount of time will not be possible. (As per law, UTP s should not be working in Kitchen as it might lead to forced labour/ unlawful compulsory labour, a crime Under Section 374 IPC.) o Guddu Paswan - Inmate for 1 month.
