WATTSBURG AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF EDUCATION The Regular Board Meeting of the Wattsburg Area School District Board of Education was held on Monday, at the Wattsburg Area Elementary Center. President Joseph Walko called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. The following members were in attendance: Mr. Eric Duda, Mr. Kerry Duncan, Mr. Bruce McCall, Mrs. Nancy McNally, Mr. Aaron Snippert, Mr. Ed Snippert, Mr. Ken Watkins, and Mr. Joseph Walko. Also in attendance were Mrs. Nancy Sadaly, Superintendent; Mr. Thomas Rinke, Assistant Superintendent; and Mr. Stephen Maksimuk, Business Administrator. Those members absent were: Mr. John Rzepka. Motion by Mr. Duda, seconded by Mr. A. Snippert to accept the agenda and accompanying addendum as presented. Motion voted and carried. Motion by Mr. Duda, seconded by Mr. Watkins to approved the meeting minutes of March 11,2 013 Work Session, March 11, 2013 Athletic Committee Meeting, and the February 18, 2013 Regular Board Meeting as presented. Motion voted and carried. As no visitors wished to address the board, Mrs. Sadaly gave the Superintendent s Report with a rundown of items to be covered at the meeting this evening. Mr. Maksimuk noted cash in the bank in the amount of $4,781,372.65 as of February 28,, 2013 and cash in the Capital Reserve in the amount of $2,937,735.45. Mr. Maksimuk noted for the period ending 1.31.2012 a cafeteria balance in the amount of $7.364.81. Mr. Maksimuk also reported the amount of the General Fund Bills (Exhibit A) to be $94,605.84; General Fund Bills, Checks Already Written (Exhibit A1) to be $633,278.69; General Fund Bills, (Exhibit A2) to be $263,065.57; Cafeteria Bills, (Exhibit B) to be $36,469.28; Capital Projects Fund Bills (Exhibit C) to be $94,228.00. Mr. Maksimuk also noted cash in the SHS Activity Fund (Exhibit D) to be $65,637.07 and cash in the Special Revenue Report (Athletics) (Exhibit E) to be $3,550.38; and the NOREBT Trust ending balance of $10,417.39. Motion by Mr. Duda, seconded by Mr. McCall to approve the Business Administrator s Report. Snippert, Mr. Watkins, and Mr. During the Principal s Report this evening, Mr. Chris Paris and Mr. Tom Ferraro shared the Medal of Honor Painting this year which was made by the 6 th grade students and a few 8 th grade students assisted also. The students did a wonderful job on the map painting and Mr. Ferraro is looking forward to an opportunity of working with WASD students on future projects. Motion by Mr. E. Snippert, seconded by Mr. Watkins to authorize the Business Administrator at the fiscal year end to transfer $483,195.61 from the unassigned fund balance to the committed fund balance. The following members voted No : Mr. Duda, Mr. Duncan. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Watkins, seconded by Mrs. McNally to approve the administration to apply for a Pre-K Counts Grant to create a pre-school program in the Wattsburg Area School District. In a recorded roll call vote, the following members voted Yes : Mr. Watkins, Mr. McCall, Mrs. McNally, Mr. A. Snippert, Mr. E. Snippert, and Mr. Walko. The following members voted No : Mr. Duda, Mr. Duncan. Motion carried. There being no further business before the Board, upon motion by Mr. Duda seconded by Mr. Watkins the meeting was adjourned at 7:52 PM.
