Suggested committee chairs contact committee members on a regular bases to keep in touch Invite committee members to the Board of Director (BOD) meetings Be creative in hosting locations for meetings Actively recruit members who actively want to be on committees
Counselor assignment: o Barb Zimmerman Nothing to report o Jean Hershey scholarship opportunities sent to the student body both at Millersville University (MU) and PA College of Health Sciences (PCHS) Scholarship opportunities for students will be resent to study body both at MU and PCHS Vice Present Secretary Treasurers Requested if anyone wants a copy of the report to transition to separate chapters please email Dee Minchhoff or Lynne Dommel your request and a copy will be emailed to you Linda Ginder Nothing to report as Vice President Kristie Bersktresser Updating committee list currently listed as a president and secretary responsibility. Dee Minchhoff made the motion to change the responsibility to the leadership succession committee. Krista White seconded the motion. The motion was carried. Jean Hershey Working through issues with previous treasure s work and meager record keeping $8542.86 currently in account. Of the balance, $500 was an anonymous donation for scholarships and $205 are donations to Water St. Rescue Mission CD started some years ago: the BOD thought the CD was closed and rolled into the chapter s checking account. However, in reality the monies were sent to the state due to account inactivity. Jean Hershey is working on retrieving the funds from the state with the bank s help.
Awards Committee Finance committee Governance committee Heritage committee Leadership committee A new spreadsheet has been created to help track the chapter s monies. Running low on checks. Jean Hershey will order the smallest amount possible until the chapter is dissolved Order of honor cords by previous treasurer: unsure how cords were paid for and where the balance of the cords are. Jean Hershey feels she has the cords that were ordered. Based on past minutes, the BOD feels 50 cords were ordered. Barb Zimmerman meet previous treasurer at LGH to pay for the cords for MU students Dee Minchoff Award nominations extend a week due to lack of nominations Kari Cellini Committed to one Ten Thousand Villages community shopping event at the Ephrata store Internal audit completed Jean Hershey suggested another internal audit before the separation of the chapters. Barb Zimmerman felt an additional audit was not needed. BOD agreed, no additional audit will take place prior to the separation of the chapters. Membership Involvement Committee Newsletter Program committee Krista White Reformulated new inductee orientation. Created three stations (1) video about STTI (2) about the chapter (3) committee information. Reviewed process; committee felt having all three stations in one room was noisy. Contacted chapter members with names of new inductee requesting mentor. Mentor assigned to each inductee 15 new members voiced interest in joining a committee. 15 new members voiced interest, but not now. Krista White contacted each inductee with committee information. Social activity tentatively planned for the fall of 2016 will now be the service fundraising event for Water Street Rescue Mission. With the planning of the service fundraising event, the committee asked if they can construct events independently, or if a committee needs BOD approval before going forward. The BOD feels committees should run fundraising events, social events, etc. past the BOD before sending event information to the membership Kristen Zulkoski Newsletter published and sent to the membership in June Met goal of sending out two newsletters in 2016 BOD feels next newsletter/membership communication should focus on the dissolution of the at-large chapter. Linda Ginder Tri-state consortium 10.16.16. Chapter will pay the registration fee for any member who wants to attend. Krista White will follow-up with list of interested inductees for committees Barb Zimmerman will follow-up to get more information on the Tri-state.
DL 10.20.16 at MU speaker is Margarete Zalon PhD, RN, ACNS-BC, FAAN co-editor of Bedside to Boardroom. CE application completed. Hotel reservations for the speaker completed. Speaker donating honorarium to an evidence-based practice group. Presentation will be 1.5 hours. Will collect mittens, gloves, and scarves for the women s and children s shelter. Updated the program for the DL. Lynne Dommell and Jean Hershey will obtain past-president pin for Dee Minchhoff Barb Zimmerman will get flowers for the speaker Linda Ginder will bring a basket for gloves, mittens, and scarves, and table covers Dee Minchoff will communicate with Barb Zimmerman about the awards Collaborative event with Eta Eta: March 16 th 2017 at York college campus. Induction April 2, 2017 for Xi Chi Chapter. Subject to change Induction for PCHS TBA Linda Ginder will work on finding a speaker from the Xi Chi chapter Annual meeting May 20, 2017 topic could focus on environmental-global aspect. Could PCHS partner with this event? Key Award Lynne Dommel reporting for Susan Graybill. Susan Graybill sent report to the board members for review with highlighted questions for consideration. Suggested sending to the membership seeking information on what the membership is doing in relation to community events, volunteering, etc. Elected positons approved at annual meeting due to individuals running unopposed UPCOMING BOD MEETINGS: BOD meeting 11/14/16 at PCHS
