Mr. Jose Melendez, Case Manager and Margarida Santos, PREP Coordinator/Youth Development who provided an overview of a proposed new pilot program, Project PRIME to be located at Fecteau-Leary Jr./Sr. High school and requested Committee approval. Discussion ensued.

Joe Abelon Recognition of service to students Mr. Geary, Assistant Director Curriculum, Health/Physical Education and Superintendent Latham presented Joe Abelon with a Certificate of Appreciation. Mayor Kennedy arrived at 7:15 p.m. and the Vice Chair passed the gavel to Mayor Kennedy. 2. Rachel Washington Preferred Meals Art contest winner Mayor Kennedy and Superintendent Latham presented a Certificate of Recognition to Rachel Washington, Harrington School. 3. Student School Committee members: Chris Cole Gabrielle Graham Tommy Rojas Lucia Gonzalez Jasmine Gutierrez Mayor Kennedy and Superintendent Latham congratulated the students for a job well done. 4. SkillsUSA National Conference winners Mayor Kennedy and Superintendent Latham and Jason McCuish presented Certificates of Appreciation to the winners: National Winners - Community Service: David Barrios Eric Martinez Meagan Molea Jose Najera Outstanding National Model of Excellence: Ashley Pimental Edward Cuevas Dr. Latham recognized the following for winning the Presidents Volunteer Service Award: Meagan Molea 2

The students showed the PowerPoint presentation which won them the GOLD Medal at the SkillsUSA Competition held in Kentucky. NEW BUSINESS 1. Field Trip requests: (a) Elie Kalambayi, Classical High student to New Balance Track & Field Nationals in Greensboro, NC on June 15-18, 2017 made a motion to a approve the trip to Greensboro, NC on June 15-18, 2017. Seconded. Motion passed on a unanimous voice vote (b) Classical High Grades 10 &11 to University of New Hampshire on July 13, 2017 made a motion to approve the trip to New Hampshire on July 13, 2017. Seconded. Motion passed on a unanimous voice vote. (c) Classical High Grades 10 & 11 to University of Connecticut on July 19, 2017 made a motion to approve the trip to the University of Connecticut on July 19, 2017. Seconded. Motion passed on a unanimous voice vote. (d) LVTI - Grades 11 & 12 to Southern Maine Community College on August 17, 2017 made a motion to approve the trip to Southern Maine Community College on August 17, 2017. Seconded. Motion passed on a unanimous voice vote. 2. Request to accept donation of $250 from the Lynn Business Education Foundation to Fallon Elementary School. made a motion to accept the donation of $250 to the Fallon Elementary School. Seconded. Motion passed on a unanimous voice vote. 3. Ratification of votes taken in the Curriculum Sub Committee: Pilot program, Project PRIME at Fecteau-Leary Jr./Sr. High made a motion to ratify the motion made at the Curriculum Sub-Committee meeting to approve Project PRIME, a pilot program at Fecteau-Leary Jr./Sr. High School. 3. Ratification of votes taken in the Buildings and Grounds Sub Committee: Private cleaning contracts. No votes were taken. 4. Discussion on SY 18 Budget Superintendent Latham reviewed the new programs being offered and the increase in class sizes. made a motion to suspend the rules and move Agenda Items 5 & 6 to the end of the meeting. Ratification of votes taken in Executive session relative to contract language made a motion to ratify the motion made in Executive Session to approve the amended contract of the School Business Administrator. Seconded. Mayor Kennedy Committee members signed the School Business Administrator s contract. A motion from the floor was made to adjourn at 9:03 p.m. Seconded.
