Consultancy and Collaborative Work with Individuals and Institutions Consulted with Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs through South Consulting Africa Ltd on the Development of Policy Framework Paper for the GJLO Sector Institutions, 2011-2012 Consulted with Fredrich Ebert Stiftung Foundation on Developing Political Parties Index for Monitoring and Evaluation of Kenya Political Parties to enhance party governance and oversight, 2011. Consulted with Fredrich Ebert Stiftung Foundation on the Role of Political Parties in Kenya, with the agenda of reforming parties as effective tools of social, political and economic progress, the work was completed and outcome published in June 2010. Consulted with the Centre for Governance and Democracy (CGD), Nairobi Kenya. Consulted with Management Systems International (MSI) on evaluating Kenya s National Civic Education Programme II (URAIA) between January and May 2009, in collaboration with Professors Stephen Orvis (Hamilton College, USA) and Nicholas Van de Walle (Cornell University USA); report already approved and published. Consulted with USAID, the State University of New York Research Foundation, SUNY Center for International Development, offering expert support to Kenya s National Assembly Strengthening Programme, Committee on the Administration, National Security and Local Authorities 2008/2009. Consulted for Inter-Religious Forum on Constitutional Review and Institutional Weaknesses and Post-Election Violence 2007. This work entails research design, collection of data and analysis and reporting. It has a national scope, with the aim of designing interventions for Institutional Reforms and Conflict Prevention and Management. The report was published as a book ( The Root Causes and Implications of the Post Election Violence of 2007 ), released to the public in September 2009. Participated in the UNDP Stakeholder Conference on November 13, at the Pan Afric Hotel, Nairobi December 2008, and was discussant of the UNDP sponsored National Youth Development Report in April 2010 held at School of Monetary Studies, Nairobi. Consulted with CLARION in Constitution Review Project, specifically on Citizenship and Constitution Making. RESEARCH INTERESTS Key areas include: Migration policy and refugee studies, human rights and governance issues (both local and global), study of constitutions/institutions, regimes and security studies, public administration and public policy.
