The vote totals are different from what was reported on Election Night for because there were provisional ballots cast on Election Day. The provisional ballots were investigated June 8, 2017 and one was found to be valid. The totals were adjusted from election night to reflect the addition of the one provisional ballot. Because the District used paper ballots instead of the optical scan ballots, the Board should read the results from each Vote Center. Following the reading of the results by Vote Center, the following action could be taken. A motion was made by and seconded by, ( ) votes yes on roll call, to acknowledge the reading of totals by Vote Center (see Action 37442, adopted 4-14-2016) and; Acknowledging the canvass of the results of the school board race of the Sioux Falls School District Annual Election held on June 6, 2017 for one (1) three-year term for Office of Member of the School Board with the results (see MRF # for complete tabulation of votes), as follows: One (1) three-year: Candidate Votes Cast Percentage Dimitrios Gliarmis 108 2.5% Randy Dobberpuhl 1,811 41.8% Cynthia H. Mickelson 2,278 52.5% Carol L. Robinson 139 3.2% Total 4,336 And declaring Cynthia H. Mickelson as a duly elected Member of the School Board, for terms of three (3) years, commencing with the Annual Meeting to be held on July 10, 2017.
