IN MEMORY OF On February 13 th, Emmis and the Austin community lost a beloved friend and news reporter, Barbara McCarley. Barb began her radio news reporting career in Austin in 1998. She started off as a part time news-anchor and began covering City Hall and Austin City politics. She also covered many breaking news stories. Barb served as a delegate for the Republican Party in Texas several times and was happy to volunteer her time for causes she believed in. Barb is survived by her husband, Robert of 18 years, two children, ages 13 and 11, three sisters, and nieces and nephews. A NIGHT IN WONDERLAND February 13, 2013 A Night in Wonderland was a beautiful combination of Music, Philanthropy, people and all-around good times! Broken Records created the opportunity for guests to jump on the green screen and superimpose themselves into a scene from Alice in Wonderland. Quiet Company brought the crowd to their tip-toes (because they were already on their feet) and generously donated half of their merchandise sales to HAAM! PROMESA Y ESPERANZA RADIOTHON On February 7 th and 8 th, 107.7 La Jefa and 104.3 La Que Buena sponsored the Promesa y Esperanza Radiothon. The radiothon benefited children suffering from cancer and other terminal diseases who receive treatment at no cost from St. Jude Children s Research Hospital. A total of $83,225 was raised and donated to St. Jude s! http://stjude.org AUSTIN SPECIALTY BEER FESTIVAL On Saturday February 23 rd, the Austin Specialty Beer Festival made it s inaugural appearance at Fiesta Gardens.
