The system will take effect as of July 1 st of this year 1 Contents Today, the Ministry of Justice has announced the partial amendment of the notice to determine the activities listed in the right-hand column of appendix table 1, sub-table 5 under the provisions of Article 7, paragraph 1, item 2 of the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act to establish a new system of accepting young 4 th Generation Japanese by having them learn Japanese culture to deepen their interest in and understanding of Japan; and through this, nurture them as human resources to strengthen the bond between Japan and Japanese companies in the country. The system will take effect as of July1st of this year. Furthermore, applying for the Certificate of Eligibility (COE) related to the system is possible even prior the system s date of enforcement. Regarding the Further Acceptance of March 2018 4 th Generation Japanese Immigration Bureau, Ministry of Justice Logo Objective To accept those 4th Generation Japanese who have fulfilled the set requirements; have them learn Japanese culture to deepen their interest in and understanding of Japan as a way of nurturing them as human resources to strengthen the bond between Japan and Japanese companies. Target recipients 4 th Generation Japanese who are between 18 to 30 years of age who meets all conditions stated below. (For both Individuals and Organizations) Has not been sentenced due to violation of, or committing fraud or unreasonable conduct in terms of Immigration laws and regulations in the past Is not in any circumstance which are not recognized to give secure, sufficient and proper support to 4 th generation Japanese,, etc. 2
