Zuniga- our next Cabinet meeting will not be until after spring break B. President D. Zuniga- please right out a How To for the next committee chair. It should include: things you wish you knew, how to do specific things 1. Spirit Chair L. Daves- I ve been working on mine since the CAA trip so if anyone wants to look at that. I can send it out to all of Cabinet. 2. President D. Zuniga- please have those for the next Cabinet meeting, after break, and reply all to Larry s email V. Budgets, Club Offices Spaces, and Constitutions Oh My! A. President D. Zuniga- Constitution deadline will be extended until next semester. How do we tell them what s going on? Coene- I know we ve been having a problem with one specific club, where their constitution goes directly against ours and creates an issue. 2. President D. Kaplan- so we have a grand total of 1 Office Space Application 1. Advisor R. Kaplan- are we sure that clubs aren t trying to call our bluff? Do they think we aren t going to stick to our word? VI. VII. VIII. IX. e. Club Relations Chair Lisa Guarrieri- in the reminder email about applying for office spaces, we need to have a catchy subject line so people will actually read them. 1. Advisor R. Kaplan- we just can t word things so that it will seem like they re guaranteed office space by handing in an application. 5. Advisor R. Kaplan- I think we re having an issue with SGA members doing their offices hours, and staffing the office. If clubs or students need information and no one is in the office to help them, what else are we going to do? Cabinet needs to set good examples for the rest of Senate. When club members are walking in, it s a really intimidating environment and that needs to change. Can we make a cheat sheet of information that people will need to know over the next few weeks? a. President D. Zuniga- can everyone add specific things to their reports about what is going on with this stuff? 6. Advisor R. Kaplan- does everyone know that the budget appeals meeting is coming up? Daves- motions to have the budget weekend open to only voting members of the appropriations committee, Comptroller M. Hershfield and the Appropriations Chair. 3. Club Relations Chair Lisa Guarrieri- where are the budget papers going to be found? Is it online somewhere? a. Comptroller M. Hershfield- they come out with the email b. Spirit Chair L. Daves- there are old forms online that need to be removed. Trayvon Martin Candlelight Vigil A. BSU/NAACP/ Pride Network- put together a candlelight vigil, and printed posters, these posters were vandalized this morning. President D. Zuniga- One of the good things about Hofstra is that there is opportunity to have discussions on controversial topics and not lose friends over them. I highly encourage everyone to go and share pride in how open and accepting Hofstra is. Please please go to this event and show that we support them. Collegiate Link A. Advisor R. Kaplan- we really need to encourage people to utilize Collegiate Link, instead of posting things on Facebook and other places Approval of Senate Agenda A. Comptroller M. Hershfield motions to pass, passes without objection. Adjournment 9:20pm 6

3/26/12 Minutes I m a sinner, I like it that way. Attendance Billy Finnegan Ron Singh Chelsea Gillyard Tevon. Megan Andrews Meeting commenced: 7:30 P.M. ~We ran around campus and hung up flyers. Meeting adjourned 8:20 P.M. Ye Olde Public Relations Report Meeting held on 3/26/12 Other News and Events I m your biggest fan, it s true, hopelessly attracted to you. ~The PR Committee cannot do all of the advertisements themselves. I cannot have my meetings consist of running around campus hanging up flyers; we have other things to discuss that we were unable to do. Please, when I leave advertisements in the office, and ask people to hand them out, just take them to your academic buildings. Billy Fact of the Week: MDNA came out on Monday. It s so good. We could have bought a house with a swimming pool, fill it up with Warhols, it would be so cool. Could ve gone riding stallions in the countryside, with a pack of great danes kissing eye to eye. We could ve toured the world on a private jet, ran naked on the beach all soaking wet, could have climbed a mountain, seen a perfect sunrise, written our names across the sky. That s all. William J.
