Eligibility Requirements 1. Be in the first year of college undergraduate studies (freshman status) 2. Have a migrant/seasonal farm worker background* 3. Have a high school diploma or GED certificate 4. Demonstrate financial need according to federal guidelines 5. Apply for the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) before March 15 6. Enroll in at least 12 credits per quarter 7. Be a citizen or legal resident *Either the student or one of his/her immediate family members must have worked as a migrant/seasonal farm worker a minimum of 75 days in the past 24 months. This includes any activity directly related to the production of crops, dairy products, poultry or livestock, the cultivation or harvesting of trees including nursery and forestry work, or fish farm work. Current and former Migrant Education Program (MEP), High School Equivalency Program (HEP) and Department of Labor National Farm Worker Job Program participants may also qualify. Applicants who cannot verify eligibility through these programs but meet the migrant/seasonal farmworker criteria must have their work verified by their employer(s) and may be requested to submit copies of their W2s.
