ning From the Board Coming Events This issue we devote this column to the thoughts of board member, Sr. Mary Jo Yutt The Abortion Report In Peoria there is a facility that is limited only to abortion or related services and is staffed by just a few people. At the present time, it is generally open once a week for surgical abortions. It is now open two or three times a week for the chemical (the Pill or #486) type of abortion. For many years (since 1997) picketers have been present, who have maintained a record of approximate number of clients when the abortionist has come. Each month a report was given to the picketers to show the increase or decrease of clients and a comparison is made of the number of clients of the previous years and the current year. It shows that the number of clients is declining steadily and this year indicates a decrease of about 250 clients from last year. Please remember that these are approximate numbers from the observations of the regular picketers. It is impossible to determine the number of chemical abortions. The method of counting? The client of a surgical abortion requires a driver; therefore, a car entering the facility with two people usually means that one has come for an abortion. The picketers have identified the car and the abortionist, who is from Granite City and only comes on Wednesdays. From the records: 2014, October total - 1005 2015, October total - 887 2016, October total - 758 2017, October total - 513 During coming months, the following pro-life events are scheduled in the Peoria Area: On April 28, at 10:00 a.m. at 2709 N. Again this year is a separate age group for children aged 0-9. Come join us for this exciting event! Greg McCoy Race Director Run For Life 5K Run/Walk Cell 309-208-1121, or Email rfl5k@yahoo.com New from Pro-Life Action League: Would you like to see $60 million dollars taken away from Planned Parenthood right now? There's a new effort on Washington that could do just that -- and you can help make it happen. As you know, the effort to completely strip Planned Parenthood of their federal funding has stalled in Congress. We just don't have the votes right now. But the Trump administration can deprive the nation's largest abortion chain of about $60 million every year with a simple rule change in the Title X family planning program. This program is Planned Parenthood's second largest source of federal money! Kansas Rep. Ron Estes has prepared a letter asking HHS Secretary Alex Azar to enact this rule change -- and he needs as many pro-life Congressmen as possible to sign on. Losing these funds would be a huge blow to Planned Parenthood, and it's something we can accomplish right now, without the need for any legislation or votes in Congress. Annual Peoria Area Life Chain: Central Illinois Right to Life will sponsor the annual Life Chain on Sunday, October 7. Call Dan at 691-3611 for more details. SPREAD THE WORD When a woman goes into one of the Peoria hospitals to give birth, she can ask for a Christ Child basket, containing items for the newborn.

January 2018 Sanctity of Human Life Rally and Vigil Walk This year's Sanctity of Human Life Rally in Peoria was held on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 7 P.M. Participants met at Riverside Community Church in downtown Peoria, IL. The rally featured special music and prayer along with reports on local Pro Life efforts. The keynote speaker was film director and author Jason Jones. Before the Rally, participants made the first vigil walk around the federal courthouse as a reminder that the federal court system overrode the rights of the unborn and the will of the American people causing the American Abortion Holocaust. HELP!!! Single? Children Grown? Semi-retired? WE NEED YOU!!! Do you have an hour or two now & then to help Central Illinois Right to Life s board members with a project? Can we put you on a list of prospective volunteers to contact in the future. Remember, the Pro- Choice i.e., the pro-abortion crowd has countless workers and millions of dollars. We operate on a barebones budget and are dependent on willing volunteers. If you could help a little in any way, it would be greatly appreciated and immensely gratifying. Please fill out the coupon below and mark the box next to volunteer help. Thank you and have a blessed Easter! Outreach Committee News: Each Child... Deserves On the second Monday of each month, the Board meets at 6:30 p.m. We come together to share ideas, pray, and to renew our efforts to reach people with the Pro-Life message. Past topics discussed have included presentations of The Hard Truth video to church groups, other Pro Life videos, how to stop Planned Parenthood, how to be an effective Pro Life advocate, and other Pro Life activities. At recent meetings we have also worked on organizing the annual fundraising garage sale and have put together mailings and newsletters like this one. Members have also helped organize and contribute to our new Facebook group. Anyone interested in joining this effort should come to our meetings or call Ken Goins at 360-9687.
