These Regulations may be cited as the Endangered Species (Protection, Conservation and Regulation of Trade) (Conch, Strom bus gigas) Regulations, 2000. 2. An application for the issue of a permit or certificate, as the case may require, to import, export or re-export conch (Strombus gigas) pursuant to the Act shall be made in the form specified in the Schedule hereto and accompanied by the fee specified in regulation 3.

An application under regulation 2 shall be accompanied by an application fee of $1,500. 4.-(1) A permit to export conch (Strombus gigas) granted by the ManagementAuthority shall not be transferable and shall be valid for such period as is specified therein, being a period not exceeding three months. (2) An applicant shall be required to apply for an export permit in respect ofeach consignment. 5.-(1) Every person who imports, exports or re-exports conch (Strombus gigas) shall, prior to the clearance or despatch ofthe conch (Strombus gigas), present the appropriate permit or certificate for processing to the Commissioner ofcustoms at the point ofentry or departure. (2) The CommissionerofCustoms shall forward a copy ofevery permitor certificate referred to in paragraph (I) to the Management Authority. 6. Where the validity of a permit or certificate has expired, such permit or certificate shall be null and void. 7. Every copy ofa permit or certificate issued by the Management Authority shall be clearly marked as copied and, except to the extent endorsed thereon, no such copy shall be used in place ofthe original. 8. Where conch (Strombus gigas) is being imported into Jamaica, the Management Authority shall cancel and retain the export permit or re-export certificate, as the case may be, issued in the State from which the specimen is exported or re-exported and any corresponding import permit presented in respect of the import of the conch (Strombus gigas). 9.-(1) Every Register for the registration ofconch (Strombus gigas) shall contain (a) (b) (c) (d) (e) (f) (g) the name ofthe person to whom the permit or certificate, as the case may be, is granted; the type ofpermit or certificate; the date on which the permit or certificate, as the case may be, is granted and renewed; the date ofexpiration ofthe permit or certificate; the date and reason for revocation and suspension of the permit or certificate, as the case may be, and in respect of suspension the period thereof; the number ofthe permit or certificate; any remarks relating thereto.

These Regulations may be cited as the Endangered Species (Protection, Conservation and Regulation oftrade) (Amendment) Regulations, 2000 and shall be read and construed as one with the Endangered Species (Protection, Conservation and Regulation of Trade) Regulations, 2000 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Regulations). (a) renumbering the regulation as paragraph (1); (b) inserting next after paragraph (1), as renumbered, the following as paragraph 2. Regulation 1 ofthe principal Regulations is hereby amended by- (2)- "(2) These Regulations shall not apply to a species for which a national quota has been determined pursuant to section 15 (1) (f) ofthe Act.". 3. Regulations 2 and 3 of the principal Regulations are hereby amended by inserting next after the words "issue ofa permit" the words "or certificate, as the case may require,". 4. Paragraph (a) of regulation 4 of the principal Regulations is hereby amended by deleting the words "import or re-export permit" and substituting thereforthe words "import permit or re-export certificate". 5. Regulations 12 and 15 ofthe principal Regulations are hereby amended by deleting the words "re-export permit" and substituting therefor the words "re-export certificate". 6. Paragraph (1) ofregulation 17 ofthe principal Regulations is hereby amended by deleting the words "Re-export permit" and substituting the words "Re-export certificate". 7. The Second Schedule to the principal Regulations is hereby amended by deleting Form 1 therein and substituting therefor the following-
