TOURISM LANGLEY ASSOCIATION Annual General Meeting March 4, 2016 Notice is hereby given that Tourism Langley Association s Annual General Meeting will be held at the Cascades Casino Resort 20393 Fraser Hwy Langley, BC on Thursday, the 7 th of April 2016 at 11:30am for the following purposes: 1. The presentation of the Treasurer s report and the financial statements of the Association. 2. To conduct the elections of Tourism Langley Association s Board of Directors. 3. And to transact such other business as may properly come before the meeting. Dated in the Township of Langley, in the Province of British Columbia, this the 4th day of March, 2016. NOMINATING REPORT In accordance with the Bylaws of the Association, The City of Langley and Township of Langley shall each appoint one (1) representative to the Board. The Tourism Langley Board of Directors shall appoint a member representing a Langley community interest group. Potential candidates will be required to submit a biography to the Board of Directors who in turn will elect the appointed position based on the required area of expertise. The Board member will be appointed at the first meeting of the new Board. The remaining board members will be elected by voting members within their Industry Sector. Voting members within the accommodation sector of the City and Township of Langley may elect up to four (4) representatives. Voting members within the following sectors in the City and Township of Langley may each elect one (1) representative to the Board: (i) (ii) (iii) (iv) (v) the attractions sector, the heritage/arts/events/cultural sector, the retail/other services sector and, the food/beverage sector, the sport tourism sector Without exceeding a total of twelve (12) members, the Board has the authority to create additional seats on the Board. These positions may be classified as at-large, or may be allocated to other Industry Sectors at the Board s discretion. All voting members are eligible to vote for at-large positions. Any additional nominations can only be made if the nominee is a voting member in good standing; the nomination is in writing signed by the nominee stating their willingness to serve as a Director, if elected and by five (5) other voting members in good standing of the Society if the nominee is seeking to be elected as a Director at-large or, in the case of a Director of an industry sector by two (2) voting members in good standing of that industry sector, in signifying their support of the nominee and if the aforesaid is delivered to the Secretary-Treasurer of the Society at least fifteen (15) days prior to the annual general meeting. After the expiration of such period, the nomination for election shall be closed and the names of all duly nominated members for election as aforesaid shall be included in the list of nominees at the annual general meeting of the Society. Substantive position is Site Manager for Fort Langley National Historic Site - Worked in the tourism industry for seven years and over twelve years in the marketing industry - Previous to Parks Canada, she worked at CTV Television Inc. as the publicist and community events producer and marketing co-ordinator for the Vicki Gabereau show - Also held several management positions in operations/special events for the Hudson's Bay Company - Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications, Simon Fraser University - Enjoys dragon boating in Fort Langley - Vice President & Co-chair of Marketing Committee, Fort Langley Business Improvement Association, 2012 - Past memeber of the Spirit of BC, Langley Committe - Mentor, Immigrant Services Society of BC (ISSofBC) Jason Froese Attractions; 2 year term Jason is the General Manager of JD Farms Retail and Wholesale outlet, as well as being Farm Manager. Jason attended DW Poppy Secondary, and then went on to begin a career in construction. He drove gravel truck in the Fraser Valley for several years before starting a small contracting business of his own. From an early age Jason assisted in running the farm and during his construction career always took time off during the busy turkey seasons to help his family run the wholesale turkey side of the business. Jason s volunteer work includes being the Head of Security at the 2010 BC Summer Games in Langley and giving a hand where needed at various other local events and charities. Jason enjoys camping, fishing, golfing and time spent with family and friends. Jason lives in the farmhouse on the property he grew up on with his wife, Amanda, their 3 sons and their dog Lucy.

Maggie Amirani Attractions; 2 year term Born In Scotland but raised in Prince Rupert BC, Canada's rainiest city, moved to Lower Mainland with parents, and 4 brothers over 20 years ago and have called it home ever since. First hotel gig in DT Vancouver where my passion was ignited and spent over 15 years at The Holiday Inn DT Vancouver under guidance of Robert Leoppky & Suzanne Allemeier. Was excitedly promoted to General Manager of Best Western in Abbotsford over 3 years ago and recently moved to the BW PLUS Country Meadows, Aldergrove. Reside in Maple Ridge with hubby and children where we love to chill by pool in hot months, fire pit in cooler months, hike, camp and be outdoors.
