Jason MacAdam Call 1990 Clerks Details Nick Buckley 0161 817 2757 Dave Haley 0161 817 7118 Ria Ashcroft 0161 817 2758 Appointments Recorder (2009) Fee-paid judge of the First-Tier Tribunal Health Education and Social Care Chamber (Mental Health) Restricted Patients Panel 2018 Memberships Criminal CV Overview Jason is a highly experienced criminal and regulatory barrister with over 27 years of experience at the Bar. The vast majority of Jason s criminal practice involves serious, complex and paper heavy cases. He has been instructed for the defence by private practice solicitors throughout the North of England in respect of all aspects of criminal work, but in particular fraud. Such prosecutions have been commenced by the SFO, DTI, CPS, ARA and Trading Standards. Jason is often instructed as leading counsel in matters lasting from a fortnight to four months. In addition to instructions being received from private practice solicitors, he has represented defendants who are member/employees of the Police Federation, Prison Officers Association, The Post Office, The Pharmacists Society, various insurance companies, Trade Unions and Healthcare providers. He is fully IT proficient and utilises the most up-to-date technology, in particular Casemap, which provides greater efficiency in searching large amounts of documentation. Recommendations He s on top of the law and the facts, and very dedicated to his clients. He is excellent. He s reliable, unflappable and tactically astute; a very good advocate. Chambers and Partners 2019 Very experienced and a very safe pair of hands. Chambers and Partners 2018 Jason is great at dealing with difficult clients and at carefully managing their expectations. He is a very concise, understandable and to-the-point advocate. Very down-to-earth, sensible and has good judgement. Chambers and Partners 2017 A great choice for regulatory instructions within Manchester. He s very able, very popular with clients, and nothing is too much trouble. He used to prosecute for the GMC so he has a lot of experience. He knows the GMC procedures inside out and is an excellent choice for any work in this area. Hard-hitting. At ease in any tribunal. Chambers and Partners 2016 Over the past five years I have instructed Jason MacAdam on a large number of fitness to practise cases before various regulatory bodies including the GMC and HCPC. He is both highly capable and a pleasure to work with. Jason can be relied upon to provide prompt, thorough and pragmatic advice in even the most complex cases and he is an impressive advocate before both Courts and Tribunals. Overall, he is my first choice for healthcare regulatory instructions. Andrea James, (George Davies LLP) Jason is a top drawer professional disciplinary barrister, who obtains excellent results for clients. He is hard working and has the ability to quickly assimilate considerable amounts of complex documentation. His advocacy style is impressive and he can be relied upon to provide clear and robust advice to clients. I work with Jason on a regular basis and have no hesitation in recommending him. Marie Dancer (Partner, Richard Nelson LLP)
