THE PROJECT EQUIJOBS is a project financed by the Community programme Leonardo da Vinci Innovation Transfer Measures approved within the new LLP (Lifelong Learning Programme) framework The Equijobs project aims to increase the number of women employed in sectors hostile to them, designing tailor-made training pathways that can improve their skills and facilitate placement in the labour market, and in particular in those jobs where they are under-represented

Women living in rural areas encounter particular problems in developing their professional profile and in entering the labour market CAUSES lack of training and job opportunities at local level areas often isolated and/or subject to depopulation lack of services difficulty in balancing work and family commitments existence of strong cultural barriers

The project involves the active policies and gender intervention axis, supporting a gender approach to local development so that it can raise female employment levels in rural professions and trades

Project Targets Increasing women s participation in the rural economy through their job placement, supporting the appeal of rural areas and checking migratory and depopulation phenomena Supporting women s job placement through vocational qualification, especially in those trades with strong cultural barriers and gender stereotypes Promoting the entrepreneurial spirit among rural women Implementing pilot training paths in sectors with mainly male presence, with the aim of supplementing the vocational training supply
