Service Overview The Statute Service User Interface provides a browser based lookup service to validate statute citations and StatuteIDs. The Statute Service User Interface also provides legislative language for statutes that are currently in effect and those that are no longer in effect. The MN Statute Service accesses a repository containing all criminal charging and sentencing statutes. The database includes citation, charges, penalties, modifiers and definitions for the statutes. The repository contains the current statutes, along with the history of the statutes. The database is limited to statute information and is not a repository of crimes or a record of criminal activity by an individual. This service provides the ability to: Search for a list of statutes from the database meeting specific criteria (Chapter and Section number, keyword, etc). Obtain a copy of all the statutes within the database Retrieve a single statute based on the unique StatuteId assigned to each statute Obtain legislative text associated with a statute Retrieve statutes that have changed during a particular date range provided by the client. Provides users and systems the ability to register and create an account with the service which will allow users to do the following: Subscribe to receive email notices of selected updates (additions, modifications, corrections) made to statutes in the service. Submit requests for statutes to be added and/or corrected on the service. View and filter other submitted online requests.
