Tanner Lehr seconded. Education Club was added to the list of guest speakers. None. Financial Literacy Coordinator Candi Richardson Candi Richardson introduced herself as the new Financial Literacy Coordinator. Her office is located in Main Hall 210 with hours from 12:30-4:30 Monday- Friday. Richardson welcomes students to her office for any and all questions regarding financial aid and scholarships. Reminded students that the new deadline for UMW scholarships in January 1. UMW s scholarship process requires one application for over 200 scholarships. Education Club Officer Tyrell Smith Smith updated senate on work done by Education Club. Currently, club members are volunteering as tutors at Dillon Elementary School. Reported that 12 club members attended the 2016 MEA Convention. Position Reports updated procedures regarding the Grade Appeal Procedure and Academic Discipline Procedure. Hazelbaker explained the changes to the procedures and also emphasized that students always have an option for the appeal process. Noted that all procedures have been updated on school website. President Delaney Hansen (Absent) Hansen provided senate with a brief handout in her absence detailing her correspondence and work. Items noted in President s Report: Hansen working on updating position requirements; planning a mandatory winter senate retreat; reminded senate that fee meetings will begin in January. Vice-President Reported that a student from Environmental Interpretation class will be observing tonight s meeting. Field shared thank you correspondence from an X1 Grant winner. Office Manager Keeley Fitzgerald Asked senators to sign-up for Christmas party. Noted that Safe Ride will have a recognition week in January. This event will be headed up by senators and Treygan Olson. Club Advisor Dr. John Hajduk Intramurals Coordinator Dalton Belcourt (absent) Activities Coordinator Reported that the Hot Springs trips have been very successful with over 20 students attending last event. Trip will also be held December 17. Noted that cookie decorating and massage event is planned for week of December 12. Delaney Hansen Keeley Fitzgerald John Hajduk

Committee Reports ASUMW Sub- Committee Reports Unfinished Business Treasurer Hogan noted that there is currently $64,184.30 available in senate budget with an additional $27,000.00 in activities. Reported that there is left over money available for Fine Arts activities from the old Fine Arts Student Fee. Individual students or groups can apply for this money similar to an X1 Grant. Chair Kade Patton Nothing to report. International Committee Field reported that the committee approved two international trips for 2019. The trips will be to Nepal and Iceland. Multi-Cultural Center Field noted that the room is in the process of being cleaned and prepped for use. Club Accountability reported approximately 12 surveys have been received from clubs regarding the new club requirements. Club Violations Field reported that there are no violations to report. Mathews Hall Furniture and Large Chessboard Sarrazin reported that he hopes to have a proposal ready by next meeting. MAS Standing Rock Resolution read the official MAS Standing Rock Resolution. Senator Destany Field offered several suggestions for the resolution survey. Suggestions were noted by Field. Senate Seating reported on a recent meeting with Iola Else, Kade Patton Wyatt Sarrazin Destany Field

New Business Financial Committee Fulfilling the Promise of X1, Jes Tews, and Treygan Olson regarding senate seating. Field provided senate with statistics regarding voter turnout and student participation with department seating vs. general seating. Noted that the current seating was passed by last year s senate as a way to give students a bigger stake in student senate. Senator Partner provided a report in favor of general seating stating that her belief is that larger clubs are underrepresented on senate with departmental seating. Noted by Nicole Hazelbaker and Dr. Hajduk that senators do not represent their department but rather the students in their department. They also noted that several of the seats on senate are general seats. moved to form a sub-committee to research and survey student opinions on departmental vs. general senate seating. seconded. Motion passed.,, Theresa Galhouse, and Destany Field will head up the committee. UMW Bulldog Logo Tabled until further information from Russ Richardson. ASUMW Diversity Resolution Field presented the ASUMW Diversity Resolution that will be sent to all faculty, staff and students. moved to approve the ASUMW Diversity Resolution as corrected. Jess Tews seconded. Motion passed. Nothing to report. Chad Funk reported on experiential learning experiences with his Ag Development class. Dennara Gaub reported that her class has been working on isolating DNA. reported that her Education class will be visiting Dillon Middle School to tutor students. Recognition of Accomplishment Wyatt Sarrazin recognized all Campus Clubs for getting stuff done and having a big impact on campus. Announcements None. Adjournment made a motion to adjourn.
