Director Report Date: November 3, 2016 From : To: CC: Dannie Stamper, Parks Director D.J. Gehrt Park Board Sports Programs : Soccer ended in October and the season went very well. We had more sign-ups than last fall season. Volleyball will end the week of November 8 and also went very well. Basketball practice has begun and games are scheduled to start December 10. Anchor Monument: We are waiting on the two top caps, the plaque and the medallions to be set for this monument to be finished. We expect this to be done on Friday. Mayor Offutt is planning a dedication ceremony at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 11 (Veteran s Day). At this point I anticipate the final cost of the parks portion of this project to be approximately $40,000. Playground Surface: We are back working on the playgrounds as the monument project wraps up. If weather holds we should start pouring concrete next week. Once Riverview is set we will start on Platte Valley Park. Because of timing we will plan on surface placement in the spring.
