WP1. : Alignment of national research programmes and activities with JPI Cultural Heritage Further develop the overview of national research programmes and activities relevant to Cultural Heritage mapping these to the priorities of the SRA identifying best practices in policy initiatives as well as policy instruments. Some results 14 countries participated Cyprus, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands and United Kingdom Is there a national/federal strategy on research which also applies to CH? Yes (14) The number of national/regional research programmes/country: from 1 to 8, mostly dedicated to CH (minority part of a larger programme)

Main CH priorities of the research strategy? Varies from no real priority, to global aspects (environmental threats) to very focused items (fe built environment)

Alignment Strategic level More than 50% have changed their strategy as a consequence of JPI CH Even more state they have the possibility to change (to align more with the JPI CH) But some bottlenecks/difficulties are pointed out hereby suggesting some improvements and actions to tackle them

Task 2.1 Joint calls (NWO, AHRC) - Aim: to explore possibilities for new joint research calls in variable geometries - Start with consultation on SRA-based research priorities ( January 2016) - Develop a roadmap for consecutive and focused calls (December 2016) - Ambition: 3 calls to be funded by the national Partners (2017-2019) and 1 COFUND (2018) 19

SRA Research priorities NCP members participated in the elaboration of the SRA out of which common Research Priorities have been identified: Developing a reflective society Connection people with heritage Creating knowledge Safeguarding our cultural heritage resource.

Task 2.3 Action programme 2014: 56 topics-subjects 15 topics proposed by Belgian stakeholders (after infosession at KIK-IRPA) 2016: 56 topics have been re-evaluated in terms of: Relevance? Which instruments? Who can join? Financial commitment? 13 topics left over; each country has to coordinate one Belgium: project proposed by KUL «changing meaning and value of CH across Europe for old and new citizens», coordinated by KIK-IRPA Cyprus, Portugal and UK 23
