Moundsville West Virginia The Marshall County Board of Education met in regular session Tuesday,, 7:00 p.m., at Moundsville Middle School, all members having been notified of business to be considered. Present were: President John Miller, Vice President Christie Robison, Members Brenda Coffield, Lori E. Kestner, Dr. Duane Miller; Secretary Dr. Jeffrey R. Crook and Members of the County Administrative Staff. Principal Jason Marling spoke on behalf of the Sherrard Middle School Local School Improvement Council. Mr. Marling highlighted that the school is a WV STEM Model School and discussed how programs are being enhanced. He also reviewed their awards, program growths in Fine Arts, HS credit and STEM Curriculum. Principal Michael Lewis introduced LSIC members and staff. Assistant Principal Shey McGuire reviewed discipline data, Jaime Pettit spoke on PBS and student interventions and Abby Aston and Trista Rager gave an overview of mental health. Minutes of the Regular Session, November 27, 2018, were approved on motion by Mrs. Kestner, and seconded by Dr. Miller. Motion carried. President Miller made a request to go into executive session to discuss personnel. Motion by Mrs. Kestner, and seconded by Dr. Miller, that the Board go into executive session. Motion carried. Ron Blatt gave the Board updates on the following projects: Monarch Stadium, Child Nutrition Building, JMHS Auditorium, Moundsville School Safe Entrance, Cameron Elementary School Safe Entrance, and the Cameron HS Fieldhouse. Budget Revisions FY19. Motion carried. the Affiliation Agreement between West Virginia University (Dept. of Communications Sciences and Disorders) and Marshall County Board of Education. Motion carried.

Page 4 Motion by Mrs. Kestner, and seconded by Dr. Miller, that the Board grant approval for the Marshall County Court System service dog, Liberty, to be permitted on school grounds to assist students in crisis at the principal s request. Motion carried. Motion by Mrs. Kestner, and seconded by Vice President Robison, that the Board grant approval for a therapy dog pilot program at Moundsville Middle School. The therapy dogs would be permitted on school grounds to assist students in crisis one (1) day per week as designated by the principal. Voting aye: Mrs. Kestner and Vice President Robison. Voting nay: President Miller, Mrs. Coffield and Dr. Miller. Motion defeated. mineral rights leases: Parcel 9-1-15 and 9-9-22 to TH Exploration, LLC. Holly Woods to attend WVDE Coaching Academy, December 12, 2018, Morgantown, WV, with expenses paid by Step 7 Funds. Kathy Fox to attend WVMEA Advocacy Day/In-Service Conference, March 6-8, 2019, Charleston, WV, with time and expenses paid by Step 7 Funds. Mrs. Hartley reviewed the Financial Statement ending November 30, 2018. Mrs. Hartley reviewed the individual school agreed-upon procedure reports for FY2018.
