Program: Soror Robin McCoy, Chairman STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS Target I: Educational Enrichment, Soror Geneva Green, Co-Chairman The ASCEND Scholars will attend the movie Hidden Figures on January 15, 2017, and the MLK Day events on January 16, 2017 There will be an ASCEND Workshop on January 21, 2017, entitled Powerful Presentations. The ASCEND Scholars will be given tools on how to powerfully present their ideas and interests in professional settings. Target II: Health Promotion, Soror Melissa Finney Pink Goes Red -Feb. 3 rd -Community Health Fair at Pentagon City Mall- 6:00-8:00 PM -Feb 4 th - Healthy Eating/Nurtrition Class- 11:30 AM-12:30 PM; Speaker: Soror Sonja Cook -Go Red Steps Challenge- 11,908 steps before 1908 PM (7:08PM). Target III: Family Strengthening- Senior Citizen Holiday Luncheon, Soror Darlena Ricks, Chairman The Senior Citizens Holiday Luncheon was held at the Drew Model School and Community Center in Arlington, Virginia, on Saturday, December 10, 2016, from 11:30 AM-2:30 PM. The Theme of the luncheon was Celebrating the Season with Our Seniors. The holiday luncheon was held in Arlington again this year to increase the chapter s presence in the Arlington community. 1

Forms may be dropped off on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at 7 PM, at Alfred Street Baptist Church. Scholarship: Soror Diann Burns, Chairman The 2017 Cooley-Moore Scholarship applications will be sent to high schools with Arlington and Alexandria addresses and local churches. Completed applications must be postmarked by March 8, 2017. Currently, there are ten students receiving Cooley-Moore Scholarships. The Mid-Atlantic Region has announced the availability of several scholarships. The Applications can be accessed through the Mid-Atlantic Region s website under the Documents link. Two awards require chapter nominee endorsement. The nominees are Soror Sharon Gregg for the Clara M. Hines Award and Soror Tamara Rowe for the Annie L. Harvey Award. MOTION: By the direction of the Executive Committee it is moved that the Chapter endorse the award nominees, Soror Sharon Gregg for the Clara M. Hines Award and Soror Tamara Rowe for the Annie L. Harvey Award. Technology: Soror Leslie Dey, Chairman Explained the function of the Technology Committee is to address technology issues throughout Zeta Chi Omega and provide strategic direction to the Basileus and Executive Committee on effective utilization of technology to increase communication and connection throughout the Chapter. There are currently 5 members on the Technology Committee. The Committee is charged with supporting 44 committees in Zeta Chi Omega. The Technology Committee has implemented several changes to the website, including changes to the Main site and Members Only site on the Front-end (what you can see) and changes to the Back end (what you cannot see). Encouraged the Chapter to use the chapter technology equipment, including the chapter projector, microphone, cameras, for chapter events. Notify the Technology Committee at least one week in advance of the event/need and provide the name of the soror from the committee who will be trained/run the projector for the event. Return the equipment, as soon as possible after the event, in the same condition that it was received. Reminded members to keep their contact information current. AD HOC COMMITTEE REPORTS Educational Advancement Foundation: Soror Nelfred Tily Blanding, Chapter Captain Explained the EAF Chapter Challenge- Every Chapter that gets 60% of their members to support the EAF Challenge, by paying $19.80 for the year EAF was founded, will be recognized at the EAF Breakfast at the Regional Conference. There was a drawing for three homemade cakes for every soror who put their check for $19.80 in the basket. Founders Day 2017: Soror Barbara Anderson, Co-Chairman Zeta Chi Omega will be celebrating 2017 Founders Day with a luncheon at Ft. Belvoir Officers Club, Mount Vernon Room on Saturday, January 28, 2017, from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM. The keynote speaker will be Madam Regional Director, Soror Joyce Henderson. The cost for the luncheon is $40 per person, and January 7, 2017, is the last day to purchase tickets. The Service Project will be the collection of SmarTrip cards in the amount of $10. The SmarTrip cards will be donated to the Carpenter s Shelter residents. 3
Leadership Development: Soror Barbara Anderson, Chairman The rescheduled Leadership Development Workshop will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017. The training is for Officers, Committee Chairmen, and all Sorors who want to learn more about Chapter Operations. It will be held at the Arlington Mills Community Center, Arlington, VA, 4 th floor, Room 418, 10:30 AM-2:30 PM. Sisterly Relations: Soror Allyson Hilliard, Chairman Sorors will celebrate International Sisterly Relations Day on January 15, 2017, at the 4:00 PM, ZCO Private Viewing of the movie, Hidden Figures, at Regal Springfield Town Center. Thanked all who supported the Holiday Luncheon. There were over 200 sorors in attendance at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City on December 3, 2016. IFNV: Soror Linda Hall UNFINISHED BUSINESS None NEW BUSINESS None ANNOUNCEMENTS Announced that the Ivy Foundation of Northern Virginia appointed Sorors DeChane Dorsey, Michelle Jones, and Doris Shannon to the IFNV Board of Directors for a term of two years. MOTION: By the direction of the Executive Committee, it is moved that the Chapter accept the appointment of Sorors DeChane Dorsey, Michelle Jones, and Doris Shannon to the IFNV Board of Directors for a term of two years. Recognized outgoing Officers of IFNV This is the 60 th Anniversary of the Debutante Cotillion. Currently, there are only 6 prospective debutantes. Sorors are encouraged to support the Cotillion by purchasing an ad or patron, and/or purchasing a ticket to the Cotillion. Proposed Fundraiser-Soror Marquita Davis -Dance scheduled for June 9, 2017, at The Camelot in Upper Marlboro, MD -Alexandria-Fairfax Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity have agreed to co-sponsor the Event. Tickets will be $55 per person. -Contract requires minimum sale of 350 tickets- Kappas will sell 175 and IFNV will sell 175 MOTION: By the direction of the Executive Committee, it is moved that the Chapter support the IFNV Fundraising Event with the Alexandria-Fairfax Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity on June 9, 2017.
