But seriously why attend? What is teen dating violence? Abuse may look different than what you think. 1 in 3 teens in the U.S. is a victim of physical, sexual, emotional, or verbal abuse. Some of you are in abusive relationships. Some of your friends are in abusive relationships.
How can this event help? Learn where you can find help for yourself or your friend. Learn how to identify and engage in a healthy relationship. Learn how to recognize the signs of abuse.

7th Annual Choose Respect Montgomery Public Service Announcement (PSA) Video Contest Sponsored by the Montgomery County Family Justice Center Foundation and the Domestic Violence Coordinating Council of Montgomery County with support from Numerous Montgomery County agencies and community organizations Contest Rules - PLEASE READ ALL RULES VERY CAREFULLY! Description: This contest challenges teens to create an original Public Service Announcement (PSA) video to promote awareness of dating abuse and domestic violence among teens. Participants are encouraged to be creative! Eligibility: This contest is open to all 6th - 12th grade students in Montgomery County. Students can enter the contest on their own or as a group; however, students may only participate in ONE entry. If a student in any way participates in more than one PSA video, all of those entries will be disqualified. Entry Rules: All submissions must be in either English or Spanish. All submissions must have a title and be 55-65 seconds in length. All submissions must be on a flash drive or disc and viewable in Windows Media Player. All submissions must include a resource where victims of domestic violence/dating abuse can get help. Submissions may NOT include ANY copyrighted music, audio/video clips, characters, logos, or other protected material. Videos may include music only if it is composed and played by a student (or students) in the group, or if it is considered open source music. Evaluation and Prizes: All submissions will be reviewed by a judging panel of peers and domestic violence professionals. The winning PSA Videos will be announced at the Choose Respect Conference on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Richard Montgomery High School. Winning students MUST BE PRESENT at the conference to claim their prize. All material submitted to the DVCC become the property of the DVCC and will not be returned.
