Conservation in Muskoka: A photographic tour of Muskoka Conservancy s 38 conservation properties. What is a local land trust? Why is land conservation important? Passionate about balancing the needs of community and the natural environment, Scott has overall strategic and operational responsibility for Muskoka Conservancy. Muskoka Conservancy currently protects approximately 2,400 acres of land, 36,000 feet of shoreline, and 426 acres of wetland. The Conservancy s 38 nature reserves and conservation easements have been created in partnership with generous private land donors, financial supporters and business partners. A registered charity, Muskoka Conservancy also engages people in outdoor activities and stewardship experiences that inspire caring for the natural environment. Scott Young 4
