Applications of Patent Information Prior art/state-of-the art Novelty / patentability Technology watch/competitive intelligence Legal status Freedom to act
Applications of patent information Finding Partners Finding technical directions Making Sound R&D Project proposals Exploiting R&D Project results
Why PATENT Information? First publication sometimes the ONLY publication Large resource (65 million documents EPO) Growing Rapidly 220,000 EP in 2007 1.66 Million worldwide in 2005! 3 applications every minute
