Thursday, June 7, 2012 Middlesex County Fire Academy, Sayreville, NJ 1. Chief William Nally, NJSACOP President, called the meeting to order. 2. Fr. Donald Hummel gave the invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance. 3. Roll call for the Board of Officers was done. All present with the exception of Vice President Sauter. 4. Swearing in of new members. Chief Nally called upon any new members who have not yet been sworn in as a member of the Association to come before the membership and be issued the membership oath. The new members were given the oath by Chief Nally, and briefly introduced themselves to the membership. 5. Guest Presentation: Ms. Lindsey Giannini, Miss Gloucester County. : Ms. Giannini discussed the her initiative entitled Don t Text & Drive Campaign, which is her platform for the Miss NJ Pageant Program. 6. A motion was made to waive the reading of the previous Business Meeting minutes; motion was seconded and passed. 7. Executive Director s Report Mitchell Sklar The Executive Director reminded the membership that registrations are still being accepted by the State Office for the 100 th Annual NJSACOP Training Conference, which will take place later in the month in Atlantic City. The Executive Director informed the membership about the upcoming September Civil War Staff Ride for Law Enforcement Leaders, to be held at the site of the Battle of Antietam. September marks the 150 th anniversary of the battle. Members were also informed about the NJSACOP room block for the IACP annual conference. 8. Examination Program Chief Bill Fury, Ret. Chief Fury reported that the committee has several examinations scheduled for the coming months. Legal Aid & Arbitration Committee Chief Raymond Hayducka Chief Hayducka reviewed the applicable rules regarding request for access to Internal Affairs files made by an Appropriate Authority.
