3. New Business A. Superintendent s Recommendations 1. Motion to approve the meeting minutes from December 11, 2017 Regular Meeting. 2. Motion to accept an agreement for purchased services with Cardinal Local School District. B. Treasurer s Recommendations 1. Motion to approve a resolution Declaring Intent to Proceed with Election on the Question of Renewal of an Emergency Tax Levy of six and eight tenths (6.8) mills outside of the ten mill limitation for the purpose of providing One Million Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($1,200,000) for each year for ten years for the emergency requirements of the School District and place the question of such renewal before the voters at the election scheduled for May 8, 2018. 2. Motion to approve a resolution Declaring Intent to Proceed with Election on the Question of Renewal of an Emergency Tax Levy of seven and seven tenths (7.7) mills outside of the ten mill limitation for the purpose of providing One Million Three Hundred Fifty-six Thousand Dollars ($1,356,000) for each year for five years for the emergency requirements of the School District and place the question of such renewal before the voters at the election scheduled for May 8, 2018. 3. Motion to authorize the Treasurer to request property tax receipts in advance of the collection period on February 2, 2018 and February 16, 2018, as approved by the County Auditor.
4. Motion to adopt the proposed tax budget for the period July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019 and approve its submission to the Geauga County Budget Commission. C. Personnel 1. Motion to hire Kristin VanderMaas as a Home School Instructor for a high school student on an IEP for up to 5 hours per week at the current tutorial rate. 2. Motion to approve the retroactive posting dated December 20, 2017 for an Educational Aide for the Elementary School for the 2017-2018 school year, 7.5 hours/day. 3. Motion to appoint Elizabeth Fekete as educational aide on a prorated one year limited contract at step 4 effective January 2, 2018. 4. Motion to amend resolution 17-412, and extend the contract for Peg Reblin, Proctor/Building Monitor, to May 25, 2018, suspending her contract on May 26, 2018. 5. Motion to accept the resignation of Cathy Bukovics from the supplemental contract retroactive to December 14, 2017.
6. Motion to amend the contract of Daniel Bushek to include February 5, 2018 to February 16, 2018 non-paid time off. D. Approval of Vendor Contracts 1. Motion to approve the 2018 contract with Management Council -- Ohio Education Computer Network. E. Payment of Bills 1. Motion to accept notice of payment to the following: 1. RE-ED ACCESS, December 2017 day treatment and classroom aide for 3 Newbury students, $13,524.00 2. LCESC, LEAD Program 2017/2018, County Personnel, $23,508.17 2. Motion to accept notice of payment and acceptance of a then and now where necessary to Geauga County Educational Service Center for the following services provided: 3. Gifted Coordinator, August-December 2017, $5,080.30 4. Geauga Exousia, November-December 2017, $13,111.62 5. Classroom aides, Renhill, Nov 27 - Dec 8, $6,384.41 6. Job Training, November 2017, $11,479.52 7. Home School, 2017/2018, $229.92 8. Sub Call, Oct 15 - Dec 6, $669.38 9. STARS, Second Quarter, $48,962.80
F. Donations 1. Motion to accept a donation from Kiwanis Club of Newbury, Ohio of clothing for students in need. 2. Motion to accept a donation from Nancy and Guy Munn in the amount of $1,500.00 for Newbury Local Schools. 3. Motion to accept a donation from Kinetico in the amount of $1,000.00 for Newbury Local Schools. B. Board President s Recommendations (Executive Session) Each executive session must be limited to the purpose or purposes stated below. It is unlawful to state only one purpose for an executive session, but to then discuss a second topic (although an executive session may be called for the purpose of discussing several topics). a.
