Voting Members Present 10, Not counting chair c. Brian Fricke presented Nick Agopian with a certificate for his service as Chair. 3. Review as needed and Approval of previous meeting minutes from Las Vegas, NV a. Motion: i. Barney Burroughs moved to accept minutes ii. 2nd Cecily Grzywacz iii. 9-0-1 CNV 4. Subcommittee Reports a. Research - Subcommittee Co-Chair Kathleen Owen i. Research was moved to first place due to scheduling conflicts ii. Kathleen Owen reported as follows: 1. 1557 went out to Bid 2. RP-1457 work was halted due to contractor unforeseen problems which stopped the ability to complete the work. iii. Motion: 1. Marilyn Listvan moved to accept the subcommittee s recommendation to terminate Project 1457. 2. 2nd Barney Burroughs 3. Discussion: a. Is there a way to get any valuable equipment or information out of the project? b. There is equipment that may retrievable. c. After termination, ASHRAE may be able to get the equipment (test rig) back to ASHRAE d. ACTION ITEM: Kathleen Owen will ask the contractor unofficially about getting the test rig back. e. ACTION ITEM: Barney Burroughs will also check within ASHRAE 4. 10-0-0 CNV iv. Jenson Zhang 1. Research Project Proposal related to SVOC s a. Existing RTAR by EHC dealing with issues related to analyzing, understanding health impacts, IAQ in buildings (230ºC Boiling point and above), airflow across surfaces has a different affect than on VOCs. b. EHC would like to tackle these issues step by step. c. Suggestion is that TC 2.3 Cosponsor these type of RTARs with EHC need vote to cosponsor and people to participate (2 people suggested: Charlene Bayer & Chang Seo Lee) Page 3

v. Interrupted Research Proposal by EHC for needed Executive Session 1. Executive Session related to 1557 TC voted to support the PES recommendation vi. Voting Member Count Changed as follows 1. Charlene Bayer moved to support the research being proposed by Jensen Zhang for EHC related to SVOCs, their analysis, health impacts, and surface-airflow interactions. ii. 2nd Barney Burroughs iii. 10-0-0 CV b. Handbook - Subcommittee Chair Gemma Kerr i. Applications chapter is fine. ii. Fundamentals Chapter is 2 years away from publication, revisions and changes are due by 24-May-2012 iii. Motion: 1. Membership is happening in the planning committee and being organized so that we do not have a large number roll off at the same time ii. We would like to have more users come into the committee iii. We are developing the list of potential candidates for next Secretary. iii. The committee discussed how to improve our visibility and reach to ones outside of ASHRAE. Suggestion included 1. Use of whitepapers on applicable topics 2. Use of conference papers (provides a publication and gets into the ASHRAE Meeting Program) 3. Entire committee can assist with and think on these matters (standards, research, all matters take time so we need to begin now) Page 4

Forum: What is Needed to Fix the Standard 62.1 for IAQP? a. ~40-60 people b. Interest was high in the forum 2. Forum: Experience with Field-Measurement of Gaseous Contaminants a. ~ 20 people b. Overall positive ratings from attendees c. Provided feedback to go into GPC 27P 3. Seminar: Case Studies: Gas-Phase Filtration for Data Centers a. PJ Singh summarized whitepaper on contaminants b. Champions for various topic papers were developed in the subcommittee. See subcommittee minutes for details. vii. Pubs would like to make a push for a Bibliography on the TC 2.3 website. GPC 27P still under work with some time before public review stage iii. SPC 145 1. SPC 145.2 galley proofs are out and expect it to be published before September 2011. a. Action Item: Chris Muller - Press Release related to publication of 145.2 Page 6

2. Waiting on decision by ASHRAE regarding whether existing committee or SSPC 145.1. iv. MTG EEC (Energy Efficiency Classification) met this morning. 1. Motion: a. Bill Lull moved that Nick Agopian be official representative to MTG EEC with Brad Stanley as the backup b. 2 nd Marilyn Listvan c. 9-0-0 CNV 2. Action Item E-mail Christine Sun about these recommendations v. The subcommittee discussed 145.X and 10121-X coexisting and how they should coexist 1. A suggestion was made to compare the two documents with a table or bullet list to help the committee compare 2. Suggestion was also to let both exist and watch what the market does. vi. Canadian document related to portable air cleaners has been submitted to ISO to develop an international standard related to these devices. i. Website - Subcommittee Chair not present i. Committee is evaluating how to revamp the website ii. Future website chair will be Nick Agopian 5. Report from TC liaisons. a. None given 6. Old Business a. Motion i. Bill Lull moves that the committee has voted previously and supports that ASHRAE does not charge presenters ii. 2 nd Marilyn Listvan iii. iv. 7-0-2 CNV Action Item: Matt Middlebrooks follow up with a letter to ASHRAE on this topic 7. New Business a. Program Quality i. ASHRAE wants speakers getting at least 3.5 on rating. b. Management Transition i. New management will be Matt Middlebrooks as Chair, Brad Stanley as Vice Chair, and Charlene Bayer as Secretary. ii. Matt Middlebrooks presented Nick Agopian with gifts of thanks for his service as Chair over the past 2 years c. Thank You Letter from ASHRAE President mentioned to committee. Page 7
