Pledge of Allegiance was led by Wayne Hood Prescott Chapter President and SAR Pledge by Rick Collins Tucson Chapter President. After the Color Guard retired, State Chaplain J. Michael Jones gave the Invocation. Secretary Dr. William Baran reported there was a quorum present, with 19 voting delegates (see Doc 6 voting delegates sign in). Introduction of Honored Guests (See Meeting Agenda Doc 1). Welcome remarks were given by President Monez. Induction of new members by President General Larry Guzy: 1. James D. The Ladies adjourned to the Ladies Auxiliary Meeting conducted by President Nancy Alter. Minutes of April 29 th meeting were placed on the table and distributed to all members by Constant Contact and placed on our web site for comments. One change was made to add a committee report that had been omitted (C.A.R. liaison report). Minutes were approved as corrected. (See Apr. minutes Doc 2) Treasurers Report SG Warren Alter, Interim Treasurer.(see DOC 3) Motion by Warren Alter to appoint Compatriot Richard Burke as treasurer whose primary membership is with Richmond Chapter of VASSAR, and his duel membership is with Phoenix Chapter of AZSSAR. The motion was approved by the Society Delegates. (DOC 4) Report was on the table. A new Treasurer Richard Burke of Phoenix Chapter was appointed by the President. He was then sworn in as such and will take over immediately. All National and

State dues from the chapter secretaries with list of paid members should be submitted to Richard for payment to National. Proposed changes to State Bylaws (see DOC 5) Article II section 10 President appointments Article XIV Quorum of Voting Delegates Article VII Fees and Dues Section 1, Section 2, and Section 3. Delegates stood and voted by hand vote. All above changes Passed Color Guard Bylaw change a motion was made by Thomas Sorensen and seconded by Richard Burke to table the proposed change to the next meeting. Motion Passed. Motion by Warren Alter: To close and transfer the balance of the Savings Account (currently $10,100.94) to the AZ Checking Account to increase its monthly balance and avoid Banking fee for to low a minimum balance. Motion was Passed (See DOC 7) Motion by Warren Alter: To approve the recommended Medals for distribution at the Feb. 2018 Society meeting. Refer to DOC 8 the Medals and Awards Report for the medals and recipients.

Motion Passed. Motion by Richard Burke to move the accounting function from Quick books Pro17 to Quick Books online. Motion Passed. (See DOC 9 ) Adjourned the Society meeting Steven Monez 10:30 AM President Monez called to order the BOM meeting Unfinished Business: Insurance for the AZ SAR Board, Officers and Color Guard no further information. Place on Feb.2018 agenda New Business: Princeton Battlefield Project: David Swanson asked for a $600.00 donation for the project from the AZSSAR. He mentioned that BMG Chapter had given a $300.00 donation. The motion passed. The 50/50 portion was also given to this project as well as a Print of the Battlefield that was given to the second winner of the raffle. Jim Skaggs asked for donations to the C.A.R. request to Support Wreaths Across America. If a compatriot helps with laying wreaths the number of wreaths laid will go toward the State Stark Award Project. Motion made by Richard Burke and seconded by Michael Jones to accept the nominations made by Nominating Committee. Motion was approved by the board. (see DOC 10) Robert Sjolin Veterans Committee presented the Veterans Ribbon for the state flag. 3 New GW Fellows. Patrick Kahne was present and pinned by his guest and Mike Jones. National Officer Candidates were discussed. The race for National Genealogist is contested and Thomas Sorensen suggested supporting Jim Faulkinbury. The AZSSAR voted to support Jim L.W. Faulkinbury for that post and endorsed all other candidates.
